I had high hopes for this place, but unfortunately, it didn’t live up to the expectations. From the moment we walked in, things just felt off. The atmosphere was cold and uninviting—more like a waiting room than a restaurant. It was noisy, the lighting was harsh, and the overall vibe was more chaotic than cozy.

The service was slow and inattentive. We had to wait a long time just to get menus, and even longer to place our order. Our server seemed distracted and uninterested, and we had to ask more than once for simple things like water refills.

The food, sadly, was just as underwhelming. Every dish felt like it was trying too hard without delivering. The flavors were bland, the textures were off, and nothing seemed fresh. It honestly felt like most of the items had been sitting around for a while before reaching our table.

Timing was also a mess—some dishes came out lukewarm, others arrived way too late. There was no real flow to the meal, and by the end, we just wanted to leave.

This didn’t feel like a thoughtful dining experience—it felt rushed, careless, and overpriced. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this was a letdown from...

I had an absolutely fantastic dining experience at [Restaurant Name]! From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted and seated right away. The ambiance is cozy and modern, with soft lighting and tasteful decor that set the perfect tone for a relaxing evening.

The service was top-notch—friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable without being intrusive. Our server made excellent recommendations, and the timing between courses was just right.

As for the food—wow! Every dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. We started with the [appetizer name], which was fresh and perfectly seasoned. For the main course, I had the [main dish], and it was one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. The ingredients were clearly high quality and prepared with care. Dessert was the perfect finish—don’t miss the [dessert name]!

Prices were reasonable for the quality and experience. Whether you’re planning a date night, a special occasion, or just want to treat yourself, [Restaurant Name] is a must-visit. I’ll...

I write this even though I may get shamed on the company Facebook page as seems to be the norm with this owner. I have to repeat what a lot of these reviews have been saying, very expensive restaurant for the standard of food you receive. And do not get me started on the attitude you receive whilst attending this "fine" establishment. The majority of staff are alright but the owner is downright awful, we have also been turned away from a half empty restaurant (and for someone who is complaining about times being tough, she seems to do a lot of this). Not only that but if you do get into this restaurant the attitude from the owner is just rude, I don't know who she thinks she is but she should not be in charge of any customer service roles nevermind the whole business. Honestly, those that have been turned away, count yourselves lucky, avoid at all costs, there are plenty of other places in Turriff or further afield that actually deserve your money in these crazy times, this restaurant and owner are not...

Been here before, but a while ago. We enjoyed the novelty factor, of being able to cook own protein on hot stones. Informed that tuna no longer available to cook yourself, or in the restaurant kitchen. This was a disappointment, that was the only reason we chose there to eat. Menu is confusing, not clear on how, what to chose to go with it. Food was average, not bad portion size. Had a long wait between courses. Prices have gone up quite a bit, Not really worth it. 1 starter, steak, salmon, chips, mushrooms sautéed veg. Side onion rings. Mild peppercorn sauce, lemon/caper butter. Children's main and dessert. 2 adult desserts. 1 cocktail, 1 fuit shoot. 1 - 1/2shandy. Total was just shy of £100, which was a shock. Good accessibility for buggies/ wheelchair. Good disabled toilet, baby change facilities.

Had a fantastic experience at The Rustic Grill. I ordered the full Scottish Breakfast, and everything was prepared perfectly. The black pudding and haggis were served in doorstep thick slices, and the bacon had a great flavour. My scrambled eggs were incredibly fluffy, and the mushrooms had a lovely buttery taste. To top it all off, the tattie scone was perfectly crispy. My only issue was the toast, it wasn't golden brown but kind of a bit pale with darker patches and not much flavour to it, a little dry. Maybe it was toasted in one of those hotel buffet style toasters, but it was a minor quibble. A superb start to the day along with the strong flat white I had. I'd definitely recommend here for breakfastand I'll definitely be back to try their other food.

I was in Turriff working, traveling from Houston, TX. We took a chance on The Rustic and boy was it a surprise!! This place is a hidden gem. Through all my travel across the world and coming from the Southeast Texas/Louisiana (Flavor Capital of the World) The Rustic blew me away!! The staff is friendly and the food was absolutely amazing! I had the Smash Burger and Scottish Tablet fries. Both had very unique flavors. The burger was quite large and had tremendous flavor, the Scottish Tablet fries were out of this world, with a perfect combination of sweet and savory (could be a meal on their own), and such a unique combination. Don’t be scared of the ingredients and description, take a chance! You will not regret choosing to dine at The Rustic!!
