Top O' The Brae Fish & Chips — Restaurant in Scotland

Used this chip shop last Night for the very first time, The positives first Refurbished Chip Shop clean, Separate till area to pay, Thats where it ends for me Im afraid. I asked for one fish and chips as you can all see on the picture and believe me, it must of been the smallest fish catch in the ocean. I was the second customer and my one fish and chips took forever to make, God knows how long it would have taken if there was a big rush on. I have never seen anything like it, SHOCKING!! to say the least, and for the price I paid for it TOTAL RIP OFF. Two ladies behind the counter and heres the best bit the older one was handling Cooked Fish with her bare Hands it made me very Angry to see her do this to my food and many others tonight and I really didn’t want to eat it after what I had just seen her doing, No hair Nets either the staff seem to think this is quite acceptable. Well I don’t think so coming from a Hygiene back ground. SHOCKING! and my fish and chips are in the Bin! If, I could give No Stars I would I don’t know how the food Hygiene inspectors have not arrived here!!…I for one will never use this place again once was...

Where do I begin!! I totally understand the importance of the covid takeaway rules!! But Standing in a queue in the freezing cold for over 10 minutes for your order to be taken is a joke!! The kid on the till was more interested in taking the online orders and getting them sorted rather than seeing to the customers standing at the window freezing. Once I placed my order 1 x fish n chips and 1 x sausage supper and a portion of chips it took 35 minutes to get my order. Overpriced Then a woman with her kid walked into the shop, she must have been a family member but no mask on!! The takeaway delivery drivers there were several of them coming and going getting out their cars with passengers in them again no masks being worn! again walks into the shop with no mask on!! I for one won't be going back and will take my custom elsewhere! And as for the food I've tasted...

If I could leave less than one star I would. The advertising for this fish and chip shop includes a website which I used to order food which is apparently no longer in use. In good faith I ordered food amounting to just under £24. I was sent an email telling me the order had been received and our food was on its way. We didn’t receive our food and tried to contact the shop which was closed. So several days later we have been contacted by the new owners who have told us basically that it’s nothing to do with them. Surely this website should have been closed down ? The shop is still trading under the same name so customers surely can’t be blamed for thinking that this is an active working website taking orders. So I am £24 out of pocket and not a sign of good faith. Unimpressed to...
