I had to rate this visit low which is unusual as I would normally recommend it. But my recent visit with my partner I gave my order for a starter and a main off the lunch menu, we waited a considerable long time for our starters which were really nice, we then waited for over 15 minutes for someone to come to our table to tell me that what I had ordered was not available, the reason for my visit was to have their spicy chicken burger which is awesome if I had known at the start that it wasn't available I would have settled for a coffee. I was given the menu and was asked to select something else, to be honest I wasn't interested in anything else on the menu but I ordered their chicken goujons as my partner was getting a bit upset with me. We waited a further 15 mins for our main courses to arrive, the table server put down my main and said unfortunately there isn't any goujons so here is fish goujons, I explained that I didn't want fish goujons and would rather he take it away and I will settle for not having anything. As I said this was an unusual bad dining experience for me on this occasion. We visit on a regular basis and I always order the same food and always look forward to it. Don't let my experience put you off just ask at the point of ordering your meal if they have everything you want rather than being told half way into your lunch that they...

Very sad to say that I experienced poor service on my visit to Guidi's tonight. I have always had a great time here and staff are really attentive and haven't had any issues before but tonight after a lovely starter and main course we ordered coffees and desserts. Coffee had arrived but waited around 40 minutes for 3 carrot cakes and 1 cheesecake. All the staff were standing around doing nothing and having a chat I actually had to go up to a waiter and ask where they were. The waiter left to find out but by the time we had even got them we didn't really want them as we would've liked to enjoy them with our coffees which we had already finished. Very shocked at this service tonight and certainly don't expect to see most of the staff members visibly standing and having a chat. Bear in mind this was at the end of night and it had quietend down but this shouldn't mean staff should forget about their guests that are still there and waiting 40 minutes for 4 cold desserts that should've been ready within a few minutes not 40 minutes. Would like to mention however the girl with red hair and glasses that took our starter and main orders at the start of the evening was absolutely lovely and the guy that sorted out our desserts for...

I was there on Friday and ordered a chicken dish, my partner had steak. When it arrived and I tried to cut into it, but it felt so tough, like I've never felt chicken before. I asked my partner to try and his steak knife went though it fine, so I gave him my knife and he saw straight away what I meant. I tried a bit anyway and it was like tough rubber, I decided to cut right through the middle to see if the thicker part in the centre was softer, but trying to cut it I nearly sent it flying of my plate I had to put so much force into it! Safe to say I didn't eat another bite, ate my chips and the sauce, and when the girl came for the plates I explained what was wrong with the chicken. She said she'd say to the chef, and when she came back we paid the bill but realised not a thing was deducted. I'm not one to make a fuss, I felt awkward enough pointing out the problem in the first place, but when we left my partner said he saw her take the plates and go for the bill without speaking to anyone, so she didn't even tell the chef. I've enjoyed meals here before, but won't be back after that. Too much risk of paying money for inedible food, and unfortunately though the service was great every other time, this time I was...

A good, friendly restaurant. Food was above average - could almost be part of a chain. Friendly enough staff, quick enough service, clean enough premises, just lacked that special oomph in the night we attended and given the size of the place was quite impersonal. I didn’t get the feeling that this was intentional, and in fact there is evidence all around of a caring private owner. Not expensive - perhaps if they halved the size of the premises, got two restaurants, made the food more authentic and less American / Italian, raised the prices, and made the atmosphere more convivial rather than machine like, it could just be that bit better. But, it is entirely possible that this existing model works financially, and in these troubled times that is no small achievement. Definitely a place to visit and see what you think.

Good food at a fair price. The pizza was fantastic but we were slightly disappointed with the lasagne (it was very tasty but too runny). The service was good but could have been better as we had to wait for some more drinks when we ran out during the meal. Overall it was good and will definitely return.

Great service and set menu is great value for money. Staff very accommodating allowed us to move our booking forward 45 minutes because we ended up arriving early. Portions great size. Highly recommend the honeycomb sunday as a dessert.
