We visited Wednesday 9th June 2021 for lunch, we pre booked for 1pm , arriving on time we met a very nice member of staff who welcomed us and showed us to our table, Trellis is a new Cafe - Bistro recently opened hence our decision to visit . The venue was busier than I would have expected for a Wednesday however it is new, well lit inside with fresh decor and a welcome new business to Newburgh, it was comfortable with good Covid measures in place . We had a menu and our drinks order taken within five minutes of being seated, drinks served our food arrived within 17 minutes. Personally I found the limited menu not exactly what I would like to peruse when out for lunch especially when little ones are joining us on school holidays for example or for under fives, Newburgh Hotel do as does Beachside Coffee shop in nearby Balmedie cater for little ones , though maybe I misunderstood the Trellis business model .
I must admit the service was good , we ordered 2 club sandwiches with 2 bottles of water, total cost of £17, I thoroughly enjoyed my meal, and my visit .
We did checkout the cake selection counter available hoping to finish our visit with a nice treat and coffee, though nothing appealed however by this point it was 1:45pm , closing at 4pm maybe the selection had sold out or run down ready for the following days business .
To summarise , well worth a visit , nice staff , very welcoming , bright and fresh , great Covid measures in place , prices are on a par with others , food was great , swift service , menu could be more varied and cater for mums with little ones more ( my view ), free parking, will I rush back ( N0 ) will I...
Read moreOur daughter recommended this place so we thought we'd pay a visit when we were through visiting and we weren't disappointed. Building looks very new. Inside was just the same, nice, bright and clean. Waitress showed us to a table and came back shortly to take our order. Latte's were lovely. We shared a piece of Sicilian orange cake which was nice, tasty and not too dry. As I'm older, I found sitting on the plastic chair uncomfortable but this wasn't a problem for the staff who moved our food and reseated us in padded seats. The place was busy and the other customers food being served looked tasty too. There was ample parking at the side of the building/at the back of The Udny Arms Hotel (which is currently being refurbished). Toilets were lovely and clean with the dinkiest hand drier I've ever seen. Just a lovely experience overall. As we went to pay there were more folk coming in and a short queue. Obviously of the same opinion as ourselves. There was also outside seating. Well...
Read moreI have put a review on TripAdvisor but I would like as many people as possible to experience Trellis for themselves!
I went to meet a family member who I had not met before. I was not sure of which table I was ment to be at. However, after giving the name of who booked the table, I was directed by a member of staff to who I was meeting!
I would recommend going to Trellis 100% fantastic service and food is beautiful. I had a potato & leek soup and cappuccino which was fantastic. The staff is friendly and easy to approach.
I would highly recommend if you're through Newburgh or close by to go and try! The prices are also really good got 2× soups and 2× coffees, which were £17 (rounded up.)
I did not wait long to be served and everything was on point. Keep up the good work Trellis staff You's are great pleasure to be served by!
Thank you's for making my visit so easy and pleasurable! I will...
