COELIAC AWARE AND GLUTEN FREE MENU I can’t praise this hotel enough. My parents wanted to go out for a meal the 4 of us but I’m coeliac and very sensitive, I’ve not eaten out since 2018! But my parents were trying various places to see if any were suitable. After their meal a few weeks ago they were invited to talk to the chef Neil, who was so knowledgeable about gluten free, hidden gluten, cross contamination etc and so happy to help my parents felt it was going to be a safe place. We booked the meal. Prior to going I was to phone the head chef Neil to chat to him about the gluten free menu etc, I was so impressed by home and his understanding and reassurance I ended up excited to eat out. Well I was AMAZING the staff were aware before we arrived, the selection of gluten free meals was great. The staff and chef knowledge was amazing. My courses were brought out before everyone else’s so that it was played seperate and away from any risk or contamination and brought out on its own. Then the rest of the families followed and we all had a totally amazing and relaxing meal - I wasn’t worried at all infact I didn’t even think about it! The food was sensational and full of flavour and served lovely and hot. The entire meal was great the waiting staff were amazing no as well and so friendly and happy to help. I would recommend this to ANYONE and if you are a coeliac country them you won’t be disappointed and add this hotel to your safe list. The photo of the gluten free before and after says it all! Clean plate. Highly recommended.

Cannot recommend the Upper Largo Hotel highly enough. I had to email a couple of times pre arrival and received prompt replies. On arrival we were greeted with genuine smiles and a warm welcome. The hotel is genuinely dog friendly including their own section on the room welcome notice. Our wee one is used to hotel rooms and travelling but usually takes a few hours to settle but she was happy to relax in her bed from the off. The food is AMAZING! and consistently so - reinforced by their very busy restaurant and the recommendation to book. Local produce and no ready meals, freshly prepared on demand. It is a 10 minute, mostly traffic free, walk into Lower Largo for the beach or Fife coastal path.

Dropped in on a busy Thurs evening, our table was in the conservatory with views across Lower Largo bay. Staff had our drinks sorted in less than 5mins, service was faultless. We had Haggis and black pudding fritters with a peppercorn sauce and Whipped goats cheese tart for starters, off the scale!!! The peppercorn sauce had a real kick to it. Main courses were Confit pork which fell apart with black pudding mash, I had the haddock in Panko crumb. This place is a gem 5🌟 really reasonable for high quality food and service

Have used the Upper Largo Hotel restaurant for many years and always been served good food with good service. Have visitors from London so took them for a Sunday lunch thinking we couldn't go wrong, big mistake!? After 45 minutes we were still waiting on our starters. My visitors had finished their starters and three of us were still waiting so had to ask again. Then dirty dishes sat in front of us for what seemed like ages. Then came the main course, another disappointment. Steak pie was rubbish, nothing like the one ordered two weeks ago, which was excellent. One main was cancelled as person was not prepared to wait the long time scale. Pheasant was so dry it wasn't enjoyable. The noodle/ramen dish was like dish water, absolutely disgraceful. The chef had a cheek to serve such rubbish and should take onus. Service was pathetic with young girls trying to do their best. Was only asked once for a round of drink, never at anytime were we asked if all was okay. No one to be seen. Then to make matters worse we waited 20 minutes for the bill. We didn't even bother with a sweet as the time scale was so bad. No management on the premises only young girls serving and one who introduced herself as the supervisor. This supervisor was not professional enough and I even felt sorry for her. Eventually we were presented with the full bill and after complaining for the second time she gave us the drinks for free. We did not go to the hotel looking for freebies, not our style, but we did expect to be served eadable food and a decent level of service Management should be ashamed to be allowing young girls holding the fort. Sorry, but won't be back...

Stopped here on the way to a 3 night holiday in Elie caravan park with my wife ,2 kids and mother. It had tables outside and was a nice day so we sat outside, the waitress was pleasant , and took our order of, the lobster bisque, 2 burgers and chips, scampi and chips . My wife ordered the fishcakes but told her she didn't want chips and would prefer salad, she said this was fine. The bisque was good, scampi was good, and the actually burger was quality meat well cooked but the chef used the ends of the tomato in the salad on my bun and they hadn't remembered to give my wife the salad, just gave her the chips and she felt the fishcakes were a bit too fishy. It was 24hrs later on the second day of our 3 day holiday that my wife started to feel unwell. We came back to the caravan about 4pm and she had to go to bed, It was another 30 min before she began to violently throw up for 12hrs straight, at one point I thought I was going to have to phone an ambulance. My mother said it can't be anything she's eaten because we all ate the same thing, didn't we? It was at this point I remembered the only different item my wife ate in the last 2 days, THE FISHCAKES !! The following day was also ruined because she was too weak to leave the caravan. Needless to say , we are pretty angry as we had been looking forward to this break for months during the lockdown and it...
