Waterside Cafe — Restaurant in Scotland

Food - full Scottish (sent back it was terribly cooked e.g. egg raw very sunny side up! The tattie scone one side nuked inedible, blob of haggis utter liquid mush and ramekin of beans freezing ) second attempt was better (sent out the same sausage, black Pudding and bacon now cold! Fresh egg was cooked solid and bean’s microwaved to be boiling hot - to be honest I expected such a response) overall still struggling for 5/10. The first coffee lovely second coffee never a flat white, no crema and wouldn’t pass as latte, weak as hell.

Service - had 25 min wait for plate breakfast then further 15 when sent back. Staff apologetic but seem under the cosh. My kid enjoyed his roll n sausage and empire biscuit.

The place could be doing with a deep clean and lick of paint the cobwebs and dust on the small window at rear of the cafe shows the level of cleanliness for me. Skirt boards dirty and scuffed.

Good location on Lochside at James Hamilton heritage park East Kilbride. Nice verandah style outdoor Terrace. Food is good, some items a tad expensive. A major annoyance was the fact we arrived at 12noon on the dot. We noticed on wall menu, cooked breakfast. When we asked for two we were refused at literally one minute past 12.cos they said breakfasts finished at 12.This was a true "Falling Down"Michael Douglas moment.Sausage,egg,Bacon And black Pudding cooked in same way as breakfast could still be purchased on morning rolls all day but couldnt be simply put on a plate with a slice of toast at 1 minute past 12 C'mon guys, if grills were off for the day that's fine but they wern't 🙄 the roll with 2 slices of fried/grilled bacon was great Its a fine line of argument, i know but it was1 minute late, the time it took to read the wall menu. Hardly impressive ...

Called in for lunch but was disappointed with service and food and drinks ordered . Ordered drinks and chose from menu waited 20 minutes for drinks and then 10 minutes later staff member came to say she had burnt our order and only had 1 panini left would a toasties be ok so my husband chose to have the toastie. What then arrived sometime later was my panini and a thimble full of salad my insipid coffee was luke warm and clearly lacking in coffee. My husband's tuna toasties was lacking in Tuna and he said the mayonnaise also was missing. Hence our visit did not provide us with the encouragement to visit this...
