The Kittoch — Restaurant in Scotland

Well this was a disaster from the off. My mum had personally went into the establishment to book, not a problem, then we went for lunch on the Thursday not to bad, my mum then spoke to someone on the Saturday night to amend the booking as my brother & wife couldn’t come again yes that’s fine will see you tomorrow. I was the first to arrive asked for the booking by name oh sorry can’t seem to find it!! ?? My mum & dad then arrived as they were celebrating their Diamond Wedding Anniversary which I then explained to her there was a problem with the booking, one young man then said yes I have the space come this way we were put right underneath the TV with 2 tables pushed together there was no apology what so ever, we then ordered food & drinks at the bar with no help from bar staff, back to the table. Our food came which for the men who had fish & chips was not very appealing a few chips with the fish that’s it, the other plates were not to bad (well as they say you get what you pay for). We then had to ask about the dessert menu, during this time some of the plates were cleared but had left 2 sitting, the desserts then arrived we explained can the other plates be cleared to which yes once I give the desserts but you can’t as there is no space. My mum had brought a cake with her also to celebrate with which was taken away when we asked for it, it took forever to come out. Just to say recommendations 0 will never be back. Even on the way out there was no Goodbyes or thank you. In one word Bloody DISGRACEFUL. Both myself & my husband work in the hospitality industry and would never dream in treating any customers in the way we were. Save your money people &...

Not a good experience..... firstly on entering was met with girl who wanted to seat us at a table by the door which was a table for 4 with smaller table alongside (there were five of us, 3 adults and 2 kids) I asked if one of the booths were available and she said no I haven't wiped them yet, I asked if we could wait for it and after sighing said yes. We were seated and went to the bar to order.... the general manager behind the bar was lovely and we ordered our meal £80 for starters and mains. Starters came out in 20 mins and were fine and value for money..... long wait for the mains 1 and a half hours since we entered the restaurant and I had to enquire how much longer, another 10 mins and they arrived.... medium steak which couldn't even be cut let alone chewed, cheese burger was burned on the bottom and was luke warm, the jack burger was cold, the chicken Balmoral was a dry breast of chicken with burnt haggis on top and the child's wrap kit came out without the chicken. We left our meals as we couldn't eat them.... the general manager was very apologetic and gave us a £30 gift card for next time. Needless to say we won't be back.... such a shame because the restaurant...

Second time trying this place. First time was about a year ago after trying a Hungry Horse in Rotherham. Two totally different experiences. Hungry Horse in Rotherham, the food was hot and rather good. Tried the one in East Kilbride, food was bland, but we all know, some places have an off day. Tried it again today 28/12/23 at 15.30 after a hospital visit with my wife.Girl behind the counter was very pleasant. Girl who brought the meals, very pleasant. Wife's meal was the sizzling steak dish. No sizzling from plate. Anywhere else she has a sizzling dish it comes out sizzling. I ordered the mixed grill. No gammon but agreed to give me extra sausages. Happy with that. Two pieces of chicken on mixed grill stone cold and pathetic onion ring. Cold and under cooked. Told the waitress about chicken and she said she would bring me two new pieces of chicken. By the time it arrived I had decided I didn't want any more chicken. The waitress did offer free coffees and puddings. My wife accepted a sticky toffee which she said was very good. Second time trying it, Second time disappointed. Will be sticking with my local restaurants in Hamilton and Blantyre...
