If the weather cooperates then sitting outside is the better option surrounded by old established trees and a very relaxing atmosphere. There's also outdoor speakers which give a decent sound. Service was great despite a limited menu, which was outside their control. Food was pretty good, but not great. The olives are decent stone in ones, but in a plain oil which with nocerella olives means only a very mild flavour. The Moroccan chicken wrap was similar, a nice amount of chicken which was warm and moist, but only a scrape of hummus to provide the Moroccan element, it needed the chicken itself to be spiced or another element to make it great. I had the Eton mess for desert and they kindly subbed the passion fruit sorbet for vanilla ice cream. That's just my preference that Eton mess is strawberrys only. The bill was £66 for two appetizers 2 mains, 2 deserts 2 cocktails and 2 drinks. Toilets very clean and a super little spot, and not to far from the beaten track.

Have dined here quite a few times over the years and especially for family birthdays. Using online booking system, originally booked 1 table for 6,but then wanted to increase number to include sister's family but system would only allow me to book another table for next time slot, but I explained that both bookings needed to be linked as celebrating my mum's birthday. When we arrived the server abruptly informed us that we weren't sitting together as comments only looked at on that morning and no space available. Whilst I accept there are limitations, it was more the manner this was delivered along with no prior notification to enable us to decide if wished to continue a celebration at different tables. When seated, the tables weren't even in a vicinity to socialise easily. Food was decent, but everyone's onion rings were cold and chips lukewarm. The final bill was incorrect, which I'd never normally even check but did on this occasion due to splitting. When staff finally worked out error and corrected, there was no apology. I'm not normally a hard to please customer and happily go with the flow, rarely complaining, but just felt the the overall attitude of team was brusque and surly, not what we would normally receive and made a family get together disappointing, disjointed and flat.

Definatly Style over Substance Food looked nice but wasn't actually very good. Wanted a mixed kebab but without Lamb and was told no as they were too busy to just have the chicken and Chorizo one not very helpful. Chorizo was chewy almost rubbery & chicken was hard and over cooked don't get me wrong the kebab looked great on the plate just didn't really taste of anything well apart from cucumber there were loads of them. Starters weren't very good either prawns were quite bland and I had the chorizo but sent that back (wish I'd have been quick enough to change my kebab to just chicken) and got the haloumi fries which were ok. Wouldn't return even the deserts were bland its a nice place but £5.45 a pint is just ridiclious and everything simply looked better than it was. Edit - Unable to comment on your reply so adding it here. We did inform a member of staff at the time and she was quite obnoxious and unhelpful.

The service is second to none. I don't think I've ever eaten at a friendlier restaurant. Check out the offer deals on their website and download a menu. They are so compelling that it's difficult not to go. The gluten free menu covers most of the a la carte menu. You'll have to look closely to spot the substitute items Check out the photos of my gambis pol pil and the iberian pork with black pudding, chorizo, spinach and fancy mash. It was simply divine. The pork crackling was crispy and the pork was simply juicy and melt in the mouth. Fantastic standard of cooking for this price. Great chefs, really great chefs So book and enjoy a lovely meal in convivial surroundings and finish your beautiful bottle of wine in the lovely garden like we did especially if its a warm summer evening. 10/10 easily. Thankyou Ego's

With Wednesday being a ‘meal deal’ event I’d definitely choose a less busy time for a quiet celebration meal out. I really enjoyed the prawn piri piri starter but the main meal was just ok, with luke warm chips and fatty lamb rump. We ordered a bottle of wine on arrival, which we had to remind them about after the starters arrived. The wine was placed on the table without being opened or taste sampled. To finish we had a small rhubarb crumble and cappuccino. The whole idea being to eat together, we had to wait at least 8mins until the second crumble arrived and even then they forgot the custard. To sum up, the only attraction is the birthday meal deal ‘buy one get one free’. The food was a pub average standard and the service not so good, probably due to it being a very busy Wednesday.
