The Good Catch — Restaurant in Sefton

After many months of having food from here whilst having my chemotherapy, they provided a small fish, chips and peas that was an ideal size. The young man even took a bit off as he knew that I couldn’t eat even the small portion of chips, so would only give me about ten chips and charge me accordingly. Today to go there to find it’s gone up, but also I would still have to pay the full price even though I only wanted about ten chips as otherwise the rest is just waste. To then be served it rolled up like a sausage in some paper and told we now charge to put it in a box, so more money again considering I’ve always had it served in a box every other time. To then be told I needed to pay for a bag as well, when I asked for one to protect it as I was in the car. So what was usually £5 I was now charged £6-20 When I questioned it the two young lady staff, were not anything like as pleasant as the young man that is usually there. Just got back from town celebrating Armed Forces Day. We called in to the Good Catch chippie for a take away, her who knows best ordered chicken curry with chips and I ordered home made fishcake and chips. Got the meals home and what an absolute disappointment it was. The chips were tasteless and looked like they had been made yesterday. I don't know who's home the fishcake was made in in but I don't think it was local. £5.45 for a "large" sausage dinner, and you dont even get 3 sausages, just 1 jumbo (or two joined up) ABSOLUTE DISGRACE. The fish is not bad but expensive. Chips ? Its chips. A chopped up potato. How can you charge that much for chips ? Not going back after wife paid over £26 for a sausage dinner, two fish and a small portion of chips. Oh, and a curry sauce.
