We went to Zizzi in Sevenoaks at the request of our six year old daughter for her birthday. It was a bit of a shambles. Order was taken quickly but then the children’s starters came really late (the order apparently had got lost). Then another 45 minutes before pizzas. No one cleared the starters in the meantime. Mine was half the size of my wife’s and the dough wasn’t fully cooked. My wife’s had a hair on it. Side salad was small and grim with slimy lettuce. See picture below. Zoom in if you have the stomach for it. Only eaten any of it at all because of levels of hunger after wait. Even so, I didn’t finish my pizza. This is unheard of. Having raised with waitress they didn’t charge us for any of it, but after previous experience we left before dessert. Gents loos were in a horrific state with hand lotion all over the floor. We were told service issues were due to manager and head chef walking out that day. Strangely had very similar excuse last time we were in there before lockdown. There won’t be a next time.

Previous review was: Great but a slightly reduced menu. 4 stars As of today won't be rushing back at all. The long term staff are great. Looks like there has been some re organisation. Times are tough with COVID, however: 1 they have no spaghetti and it has been this way for the last 3 visits over 5 months and no one typically informs you that your spaghetti Bolognese is unfortunate not and it will be supplemented. No problem if your told beforehand. Seems there is no intention to get spaghetti back in stock? For an Italian restaurant, unfortunate. 2 the spice level of the exsisting dishes has been greatly increased. To the point of too hot. Again if you know or can ask for a reduced spice level no issue but there does not seem to be the latter option. 3 burnt food and burnt bits of bitterness is now the normal. Hopefully the burnt food can be solved.

I went here last week and I was quite frankly appalled with the service, it took an hour for the mains to come and over 15 minutes before we were even asked for drinks. I was really annoyed after this so I went into the bathroom to calm down, but in the bathroom the floor was SO slippery I could have cracked my head open, it’s a genuine concern and a hazard, the wet floor sign was in one of the stalls (where it was not even wet) I was thoroughly infuriated, when we finally ordered dessert it was disgusting, I asked to speak to the manager, only to find him coming to our table in a FUR SUIT the manager is a FURRY, I’m never visiting this restaurant again and it’s given my friend (diagnosed) PTSD

This is a long complaint - in short it was awful.

Booked a table at 7 for a double date, we were seated promptly and on time, offered water and given menus then asked for drinks all good at the start, nice service. It went down hill quickly. After ordering our food through the app through two different phones one phone order went through and the other didn’t so they had to re do theres. Me and my partner got our food after twenty minuets, we then had to wait a further 20 minuets for the other two starts, trying to keep positive we didn’t mind too much. Once finished we ended up waiting at lest 20 minuets with non of us touching our food, staff had walked by many times, one of us had to end up getting up and asking for our plates to be taken, no sorry for the wait just a simple ‘okay’. Plates taken all good, bit of a wait for the mains but we didn’t mind too much again, this time the other couples mains come first, they where able to pretty much finish there’s by the time ours come, we are clearly at the same table but it felt like they didn’t know that, my partner also had to get up and ask for cutlery as the waiter had taken it and stated they would grab us more for mains but didn’t and served us food and walked away meaning he had to go find someone just so we could eat. I wasn’t overly impressed with my main but the others all seemed to like there’s. then waited a very long time to get them cleared. Pudding was the best, other couples first then not too much longer we got ours and was very tasty. Then we went to the toilet, awful. Dirty floors that looked unwashed, soap and water everywhere (probably just kids but still not nice) hair and dust in corners and everything felt a bit dirty, not nice at all. During all this (over two hours) we weren’t offered drinks or even asked for refills, I had to ask for some more water after an hour and a half and even then it took twenty minuets and I had seen the lady doing other things first. Then there was the fact the tables around us that had left had dirty plates and finished drinks on them just sitter there till we left, one table about an hour and the others a bit under that but wasn’t nice to be surrounded by. Then there was the fact it wasn’t busy, there was 5 tables at most (two tables of two, our table a table of 4 and a table of two adults and three kids) one table left very soon after we got there by our mains it was just us and a couple and still we got this bad service. No sorry for waits or having to get up to come and ask for basic things, no check backs on anything and only offered drinks on when we had just sat down and half got our coats off. It was truly awful. The people working seemed nice enough but clearly either not trained very well or they just don’t like there jobs very much I’m really not sure but it was the worst service any of us had before especially as it wasn’t busy at all. I will not be recommending this place to any friends or family as I would feel bad sending them somewhere with such little care. At least the food tasted nice. The drinks where okay, freezing glasses with room temperature drinks inside, confused at first but really wasn’t too bothered by that. This place needs some serious work. This is also the first time I haven’t tipped in years, I’m a big tipper and believe it’s nice to do so but my god I could tip this...

Booked a table for 7pm Saturday. When we arrived I could see that there were a number of tables not cleared after diners has left. we were shown to our table and ordered some drinks, nothing too difficult; water wine coke and 3 bottled beers, these took 20 minutes to arrive. We ordered our starters and main course at the same time, 25 minutes later my calamari arrived, my guests said I should not wait for theirs to arrive and start, I am so glad I took there advice as I had finished before theirs had even arrived, eventually their starters arrived. Whilst we were waiting (bearing in mind that the restaurant was less than half full) a party of 4 arrived, I am not sure what was said but they didn’t stay. The waitress apologised and said that they had 2 new chefs in hence why we had to wait. We then waited for our main courses to arrive, nothing after 30 minutes, so my husband asked to speak to the duty manager. He apologised saying “sorry Buddy we are training up 2 members of staff” Eventually after a 45 minute wait after our starters, our mains arrived. As we were sat near the door we could see a number of delivery drivers come in and collect their orders. It looked like they we’re prioritising delivery orders. The manager never once came to our table and apologise he left it to the waitress, yes we did get 30% deduction on the bill but the whole evening was a complete mess. The table next to us remained uncleaned during our dining experience, crayons and empty glasses left on the table. I appreciate you have to train new staff but personally I felt the manager...

Ho ' dear what a horrible place I went to the gentleman's toilet before ordering my meal ( what a dirty horrible toilet the mens urinals where caked with - piss - yes unsightly old dry caked wee and the mirrors where so dirty I could hardly see through them. The floor looked very suspicious, looks dirty. I told the waitress and she went in to a lock down and didn't like it because I said the toilet was dirty and I used the word PISS in the sentence and told us she doesn't want to serve my partner and I because of my complaint . I've never seen such a stroppy young upstart in my life ( she said "do you want my name IT'S EMILY") to be honest I've never been treated as bad from a very young lady in my life. I now know why the chain is getting such mixed bad reviews. 👎 it's the last time I ever wanted to enter the doors of a Zizzi again - in any location Zizzi have a good look at your restaurants Urgently!

PS: This is me speaking now, David's partner. The waitress was very rude and speaking so loud to us that the other customers must have been disturbed. What ever happens when a customer complains you have to take this serious and with respect. She has driven us out. We will not be spoken to like this. She also said she had cleaned the...
