AuthenThai — Restaurant in Sheffield

We have ordered from authenthai on numerous occasions and have never had an issue but tonight was really bad.

We asked for mild chicken drunken noodles which we have always asked for previously as well but tonight noodles were really hot so much that we couldn’t eat them. We rang and explained the problem and was told that if we wanted some more we would have to wait a very long time for someone to bring us some more. I feel this was unacceptable as a customer that has made a complaint I would think it would be a priority.

In the end we agreed to having a full refund as offered by the lady on the phone, but when I went to collect they only offered me a small amount at first as I hadn’t brought the food back. I wasn’t told to take the food back and told them they could come and collect it later as it hasn’t been eaten and eventually got the full money back. However when I left the lady that did the refund said I hope you enjoy your food to kind of make out that I was scamming them.

Really bad...

Our first time trying Thai food, so I can't compare against other Thai establishments. We ordered satay chicken, ribs & crackers for appetisers which we all shared. For mains, daughter had pad Thai chicken, wife had a potato & beef curry & i had garlic, ginger & chilli prawns stir fry. Mine was a bit spicy, which is fine with me, the others were milder. Every single dish was delicious & we thoroughly enjoyed it. It has a basic but kinda cool vibe with wood panelled walls & bench seats or stools at the tables. I had a draught lager from the bar, and the others had cans of coke. These were ordered separately from the food and were reasonably priced. The food is served in takeaway type plastic containers, it's not a fine dining setting but the price reflects this. At £45 for all the food, and we didn't finish it all so plenty generous portions, we thought it was excellent value. We'll definitely be going back to try some different things...

🥦 Their Pad Thai is our favourite in Sheffield so far.

🌶️ You can see the spices level on the menu which we find very helpful! Their food always tastes super fresh 😋

😁Generous portions, fair prices and very well packed. Their takeaway containers can easily be reused.
