I used beres regularly when I worked in and around Sheffield a few years ago. Always a good experience. Since I was picking my daughter and her Mum up from Northern General a couple of weeks ago, I thought I'd nip down and get us some lunch. I parked up in an empty car park and proceeded to enter the shop. There was around 8 blokes in the shop so I stood at the counter near the entrance. A woman shouted over the crowd and asked if I wanted serving. Yes I said and with that she motioned me to the left and said well you queue from this side. Just for clarity, there's no signage that says queue this way and the8 blokes were blocking it anyway. She could have just taken my order then but hey ho I'll just push my way through. Upon asking me what I wanted, I said are you doing pork sandwiches yet or is it too early? (10 o'clock) No answer just a roll of the eyes and a motion towards the pork on the slicer. Ok I said, I'll have 3 pork sandwiches with apple sauce and crackling. No stuffing was the reply? Well, in all the stress of trying to order I'd forgotten about the stuffing 🙄 so I said oh yes, and stuffing please, only to be greeted by "so 3 with everything then???" Yes please I say, and a black coffee please. A young girl steps forward and I think oh a smiling face maybe? How wrong could I be? She places a cup in the machine, takes my money while carrying on another conversation. So I have my sandwiches and my 3 bags of crackling. She continues to serve other people. I can see my coffee is ready, but I wait. Eventually she looks at me and says can I help you? Yes I say, can I have my coffee? Which she sheepishly hands me. See? We're not all perfect are we? I came out of the shop to see I was blocked in by some, I presume local boy racer that had parked at 90 degrees to me although there wasn't another car in there. There's no markings in the car park and nothing in the shop to tell you which side to queue so unless you are a local, I don't think they want your custom. Disappointed as I've always recommended Beres but I won't ever again or visit myself. The food isn't as good as I...
Read moreCalled in for a ham sandwich and a sausage roll at Crookes branch. Very disappointed, air conditioning unit running at full pelt, it was that hot inside the shop the heat hit you as I walked in, all I could hear was a member of staff saying to everyone that came in can you close the door. The door was fitted with a self closer. The bread was very dry and I ate the warm ham out of the middle of the sandwich and had to throw bread away. I also ended up peeling the pastry from around the sausage roll because it was hard and dry. I felt very uncomfortable being on the premises in so much heat which can breed bacteria, leading to covid and other ailments. Never had this problem at other branches, it may be winter out there but the staff are ruining...
Read morePopped in Herris rd, loxley Saturday dinner as I was in the area. Omg, what a different experience it was compared to my local shop at woodseats. The staff were pleasent , polite and happy. I wanted 4 pork sandwiches all different. And buns and sausage rolls. The only talking the two assistants did to each other was regarding my order and "not" about their own lives to each other as the woodseats staff do. The service was A*. All the sandwiches looked and tasted fab , whereas at woodseats they taste good but look as tho they are chucked together because the staff are too busy talking to each rather than focusing on the customer and customer needs. Would you please tell the staff how well they performed please , and their politeness and...
