It's fine. Nothing special, hence the three stars, but if you're after some lunch and a drink then there are the usual pub staples available so most people will be able to find something they like on the menu. It's been fairly quiet anytime we've been in and the staff seem fairly friendly.

There's a female chef who's really nice. I might be the only person in the local area with a plant based diet because she came out personally last time I was there to check my food was ok and to say she'd never put together that dish before (because no one had ordered it before). So that was really nice of her. The plant based options are, unfortunately, very lacklustre but I think that's fairly standard across Greene King pubs, so it's not the fault of the Devonshire Arms as I don't think the menu items get decided by the individual pubs. The plant based goujons they use in the curry and the burgers are...odd? They're edible, but seem weirdly bready.

I'm not expecting them to cater specifically to me since they clearly don't have a lot of plant based customers, so we'll probably continue to keep popping in here occasionally if we want a no fuss local pub lunch. Maybe I'll just stick with the chickpea curry in future to avoid the strange...

Fantastic Room with Views, Beautiful food & Lovely hardworking staff!! We had a birthday stay here friday after walking The Peaks. We stayed in the Masons room which was very comfortable & Very nicely decorated, Boasting great views into the valley from 2 Comfy chairs infront of the window!!
