The Brickhouse Cafe — Restaurant in South Cambridgeshire

Inside is very small with three tables to sit at but it does have outside seating also. The place is very clean with good hygiene standards. My wife ordered scrambled egg on toast & was brought fried eggs on toast which was sent back & replaced for microwaved scrambled egg which isn’t pleasant as it’s rubbery & watery which makes the toast soggy, scrambled egg should always be done in the pan for better taste and texture. I ordered fried eggs on toast which came as cut toast triangles with over done eggs on the side of the plate. I’d have preferred soft yolked eggs on crispy toast like I ordered. Reviews for this café were mixed, and I gave it a chance. I visited on a weekday morning, just after opening. It was not busy and I sat outside. The house breakfast was great value and cooked well. The eggs had no uncooked white yet the yolk still soft. The hash browns were the star of show, more tasty than others I've had elsewhere. The sausage I'd describe as café standard. I've had better in fancier places, but this isn't that. Quite frankly when looking around for cafés open early for breakfast you're not spoiled for choice.
