Went here last Friday with 4 friends. The kitchen closed at 9PM it seems when we tried to order at 9.10. When asked if we can order outside food to eat inside the pub they said NO. But we did not think or realise that even eating outside food in garden area is restricted ( there were no explicit sign). And genuinely we never had this experience earlier as we always thought or misinformed that in garden you could.. We asked only to check if it’s allowed inside. We always thought in garden it is permitted. Our bad again. We ordered some take away chips and wings from nearby shop to have it in the garden. Literally no one in the garden and we sat in one corner.
This was a mistake and we whole heartedly agreed and apologized repeatedly. It’s a mistake and we agreed.
But the arrogant pub lady kept abusing us that we have disrespected them and no point in asking sorry.
What else she expect us to do. We were already leaving the pub. So it’s not a question of asking us to leave as we are on the move. We apologized and apologized and apologized to point were we repented she doesn’t deserve any apology. She was just kind of provoking my friend. When we agree we made a mistake, what more has to be done.
The basic courtesy is when someone apologizes you must agree and move on. Atleast ask to leave straight away or ask money for any damages commited.. But instead she kept arguing that without a point that we disrespected the pub blah blah blah. and we were not even sure what to do next.
The girl serving drinks understood the situation atleast and tried to control the granny. Apart from that girl the pub is full of rude arrogant staff.
Forget food or drinks here. Very limited options. Basic customer service is missing in this pub. What should have been a good weekend was spoilt by this pub lady. Never will visit or...
Read moreThe worst pub experience. If I could rate 0 stars I would, it doesn’t deserve one. The general service and atmosphere was appalling. The staff (the owners) were incredibly rude and obnoxious. At no point during my visit did I feel comfortable or looked after by them. The manor in which me and my group were approached was sarcastically aggressive and ultimately disrespectful. It was embarrassing, and I have never felt so insulted in my life. I’m not sure if they were having a bad day but their attitude was repulsive, we were overwhelmed with how badly we were treated. Thankfully I will never be attending the Greyhound again and would advise everyone to AVOID this pub. Quite frankly the worst hospitality experience I have ever seen. Would not recommend this pub to anyone,
Ps. go to the Plough in...
Read moreTARDIS of a pub! Looks small from the front but has had a few extensions in the 400 years it's been there. Extensive beer garden with 3 little chalet style shelters seating 8-12 each. Friendly owner and staff, chatted with me a while about the building. Beer was good, food was excellent! Ordered a rump steak, they were out so I got upgraded to sirloin for no extra. Reasonable prices too. Something to look out for and see if you can spot... Just for fun. In the conservatory/dining room there are five posters with famous food related quotes on them. One of them has a spelling mistake! Why not pop into the pub, order a meal and maybe have a drink or two and see if you can find it! Even if you can't I'm sure you'll...
