Sweet Retreat (Swadlincote) — Restaurant in South Derbyshire

Appalling service. Looks like they are closed from the outside, car park is shared by three businesses. Had a delivery from here by my daughters partner along while ago which was ok. But now ridiculous , don't know if they are new owners of what . But ordered eventually after repeating myself times & having to look on my new phone for a menu which apparently they haven't got any paper ones in the shop this i was assistedby a guy. Ordered 2 chocolate bar milk shakes 1 Terry's chocolate orange & peanut m&msg after the lady said chocolate m&msg 3 times upgraded to medium served by a lady. Then another lady said what can I do for you saying you would get discount with a NHS blue card. So I said my wife was a carer @ work & I was treating her for after word surprises she said I will upgrade then again to large onesTo my dismay 3 people came in to collect orders & one man took other orders for delivery. Another man ordered after myself . So we chatted for a while to past the time . Half an hour later .stillno milkshakes I asked to man server what the problem was to be told the machine had overheated . Still 10 minutes later no desserts . So I asked him for my money back & was told there nearly done . No apology. But told they had upgraded to large for the wait . Told him I had not been informed of the reason for the delay & he said I did inform you & I said only after I had asked where my order was after an incredibly long time just for two milkshakes the to top it all got home just before my wife came home from her last client @ 8.20pm . She was excited about what I had done & ordered. The peanut m&ms milkshake was only just chocolate no peanuts . But my Terry's chocolate or one was correct & nice . Big disappointment. Must try...

Terrible place! Terrible service! Ordered a sundae and it came with traces of nuts in to be told it hasn’t got nuts in… when I know what nuts tastes like, basically calling me a liar. Then instead of just sending out a replacement when I complaining they sent a driver to pick it up to investigate to be told there wasn’t any nuts in it, which is a massive insult to my intelligence. Worst thing they have no replaced my pudding tonight they said I can have a free one in future! So I’ve paid for a pudding tonight to eat a tiny bit of it and it to tast of nuts, for the to collect it and basically call me a liar and in the end not have a pudding! Absolutely terrible service and would not recommend these shamble of a company to anyone. Not how you keep customers sweet retreat! Avoid at all costs! …

Ps. I don’t want my free desert, we have requested a full refund off just eat and you know have lost of custom for...

Usually order from the Burton branch but today decided to try the Swad one. I have to say it’s a lovey place to dine in. The ambience is great. The desserts were delicious. From the Strawberry Cheesecake, Oreo Sundae to the Cookie Dough and Waffle everything was sublime. Even the kids were impressed and gave a 10/10. The staff are extremely polite and Khoala was extra friendly and provided great customer service as even the children enjoyed her company. The owner Ali himself also ensured everything was perfect and was super fun to interact with. Definitely will be revisiting! Thank you for your amazing...
