Benny's Diner Long Sutton Limited — Restaurant in South Holland

Having lived in Holbeach since 2017 I’ve often wondered this eatery was like, my mate often mentioned that he’d like to visit, so I thought I’d treat him. We both had cod and chips Claims’s to be line caught cod, no way of proving or disproving that claim and certainly doesn’t taste any different. Have yet to see anyone sitting on the dock of the bay, line fishing for cod…. Which brings me on to this so called Americano themed restaurant, there’s nothing I could see remotely American here.. ok so there’s a few American car number plates on the wall but there just reproductions… I have frogs in my garden but it doesn’t mean I live in a French chateau. Many of the tables were uneven and were rocking so maybe the rocking was the American theme. So we both settled for cod and chips… no peas mushy or otherwise, chips were frozen chips, fish I’m guessing was frozen too, so any claims to freshly caught has long gone out the window. A mug of hot chocolate and a mug of tea also ordered…. Ooops the waitress spilled the entire contents of the tea over the table. Ok it was an accident and no one was burnt, but that was just luck.. the bill came to £33 for what it was this was an excessive price, we had exactly the same in Sainsbury’s only last week with peas for £6.95 each plus £2 for a mug of tea. I don’t mind paying over the odds for food but it has to be, value for money and something special. It simply wasn’t. I was expecting a small discount considering the mess with the tea, but nothing. No way was I going to offer a tip. The only thing I found positive about the place was the A16 outside and I couldn’t wait to get on it...

The atmosphere and cleanliness wasn’t good. The food was not nice either. I ordered a sirloin steak but got a rump steak instead, I asked to be well done but it was half cooked. I asked them cook it a bit more they did it was still wasn’t fully cooked. Two hours later I got diarrhoea, not everyone’s stomach can handle raw meat! I think I know why they don’t thoroughly cook their food is because they want to save energy! The lady who served me was nice enough but why she gave me rump steak, I think I know why is because rump steak cost a couple of pounds cheaper, I didn’t bother complaining about that because I’ve already complained about the steak being not well done. I gave up complaining. When I got to the till after the meal they charged me for sirloin steak, it goes to show how dishonest they are! I often visit Kings Lynn, before I went there I thought I can go there for a proper meal in future, after that meal I will never go there again. This is the first time I stayed at this Travelodge Kings Lynn Long Sutton I normally stay in others within Norfolk. I hate people being dishonest with me! Benny’s Diner has been shut for many years before may be this is one of the reasons why people dislike about this place. TO BE IN BUSINESS HONESTY IS ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT FACTORS WHY PEOPLE DO BUSINESS WITH YOU. If you want them to come back you need to be honest with them and please them as much as you can. I spent £24 last night, now Benny’s Diner has proved to be a deceitful restaurant and not willing to give what I asked for, well there’s no point of going...

What a great place, such a friendly atmosphere. The staff are always smiling, very polite and look very happy. I got to speak to the owner who is canadian and very friendly and down to earth. We came by this great looking diner on the way down to Great Yarmouth, it's opposite Mcdonalds on the roundabout and since I was once head chef at Yorkshire Bank Head office I don't do fast burger joints. We were seated straight away and looked through the choices in the menu, Me and my wife chose a full breakfast. My son chose the pancakes with bacon and maple syrup and my daughter had waffles with ice cream. When the food arrived at our table the full breakfast tasted as good as it looked and not greasy at all. The pancakes made my sons eyes nearly pop out on stalks, 3 huge as big as the plate with loads of crispy bacon and a small jug of maple syrup. Of course my son could not eat it all but he gave it his best!. My daughters waffle and ice cream came with chocolate sauce. This was also a great looking very nice large portion. My daughters like a human dustbin at the moment so finished it all very quickly Still don't know where she puts it all as she is very thin. All in all a great dining experience that I would recommend to anyone heading in that area or anyone looking for a great authentic diner. It was that good we also visited again on the way home.
