China Moon — Restaurant in South Kesteven

Visited 18/7/24 with group of friends for the all you can eat buffet. Great selection of food altho not a traditional self service buffet. You order from a menu and the dishes are freshly cooked to order and keep coming until you have had enough. All for £17.50 , I think it's a little more at the weekend . We normally just ask for a selection of starters, ie chicken sate skewers , seaweed ( OK cabbage!) Chicken balls, ribs, prawn toast ,crispy salt and pepper chicken, some sweet coated chicken, spring rolls, samosa type things etc etc. Then we had crispy duck followed by our choices of mains. I had egg fried rice, Hong Kong style king prawns and king prawn curry. There was a great choice . We had 2 people with shellfish allergies and a vegetarian and their food was kept seperate. I can really reccommend it. If you decide to try it and i hope you do, when approaching the restaurant on the A1, turn as if you are going to the petrol station otherwise you will drive straight past and its a pain to drive to the next turning and retrace...

The amount of times I driven past this restaurant at Colsterworth and never been in. Well I tried for first time with my partner and it was one of best Chinese restaurants I've been to. We had Buffet and eat as much as you like for Saturday price of £16.95 ( £2 cheaper in the week) Taken to our tables and checked to see if our temperature's was within the current guide line with Covid We choose our starters and Duck and Pancakes , we choose 2 dishes each from starter range then went on to the main course My partner had Sweet and Sour Chicken and Crispy Beef I had Malayan Mee Noodles. With Rice to go with the mains. By end of meal we both had enough and tummy's was full 😊 Food was hot fresh and tasty. I had Tiger Beer and partner soft drink Would I go back yes I would Rather than drive past try it or get take away...

We booked a reservation for 7pm, we arrived at 6:50 there was only one other table occupied. Within 10 minutes 5 other tables came in. We were asked if we wanted drinks around 7:10 and then waited, they took our starter order at around 7:30 and at 8:10 we had a single bowl of soup delivered. There were other tables complaining and talking about the timescales and service. Other tables were on the there 2nd courses.

Because of this I went to the desk and paid for the 2 Pepsi max pints that we had (£7 for 2 pints) and left.

I have been to the China moon many times and always had a great experience. I think it is under new ownership and not sure that we will be back after this experience.
