Maharanis Restaurant - Deeping St James — Restaurant in South Kesteven

Decided in this restaurant for my birthday meal, well from the unassuming frontage of the place it is fabulous inside, plenty of room between the tables, not like some other places whereby you can smell the liquid the next table has washed their laundry in. The service was a little slow to begin with but the beer was good as too were the poppadoms and pickle tray, but then the wait, to order our food... 20 minutes ish before we ordered, but when the food arrived it was nicely presented an the mains, well if you like rice your come to the right restaurant they must have a paddy field, the plate was large and northern my wife or I could eat all of ours. We then waited our table was cleared and coffee etc was offered which due to the portion size we declined, but we were ready to pay and the guy comes.over with the card machine, we haven't had our bill yet I said, ok and off he goes, 5-10 minutes and still no bill, so we go to the bar to pay.

Love this little gem, but just a little streamlining of the waiting staff would give this place a 5.

WHAT A GEM OF A PLACE YET TO BE DISCOVERED IF YOU HAVENT ALREADY!

I have heard good stuff about this restaurant so me and my mates decided to drive down all the way from Yorkshire. I’m lost for words.

The food is absolutely quality and you can actually taste that with every bite and chew. These guys are in the league of their own and I have travelled many miles for food across the UK.

The dishes are only a part of the story, I have never received such top tier service from the staff and I seriously cannot fault this place one bit. The manager Yaseen has done an incredible job with this fine beanery.

My only critic is why is there not one in Yorkshire???

I rated them five stars more for their service and atmosphere than for their cuisine. The restaurant is located next to the river with spectacular view of swans swimming by.

I love curries and I have eaten them since I was little. I have tried indian curries from several nations. I exclusively eat curries prepared by Indian cooks, just like all other authentic foods. I am not sure if they have a different chef this time. My impression of their curries was ok which is a real shame. But, well done for the location...
