Tonino's Pizzeria — Restaurant in South Kesteven

Very poor experience. Calamari too tough to eat but batter undercooked. Diced potatoes dry and loads of completely black potatoes. Mushroom risotto mainly what appeared to be tinned tomatoes poorly seasoned and with a few very soggy mushrooms. Canneloni very bland and no seasoning. Pizza very average. Only good bit was the gin and tonic. Didn't risk dessert! Service not bad but table squashed into a corner and not enough space for the 5 of us. Overpriced even though meal was discounted due to poor quality. Wouldn't go back. Worst meal out in a very long time and as it was a birthday meal out we felt very disappointed. Im very sad to be writing a less than positive review, so Im really sorry to say we were very disappointed with our recent visit to your restaurant. We havent been for a while and the last time we were there was in 2016, and it was lovely so we know the standard weve all been used to. Unfortunately, this time in Aug 2024, it wasn`t what we expected from what was a proper Italian experience. The food was bland and the table for 4 people was far too small, and the lighting was far too dim to see properly, the whole place was soulless. I will say on a positive note the wine (Merlot) was very good and the service was lovely. We will definitely not be returning...

Went for a get together with old friends , the conversation flowed the drink flowed and the food was the superb accomplement to the evening. I had king prawn marinara it was excellent with a side of bruschetta, followed by a lemoncello sorbet meringue. Over all cost of £32 including drink, superb value. The restaurant is on the small side so there is a lot of staff and customer activity around the tables and the noise level though high is acceptable to continue hearing your own conversations.
