"I had the pleasure of dining at Stoke Mill last night, and I must say, it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. As a vegan, I often find it challenging to discover restaurants that cater to my dietary preferences without compromising on flavor and creativity. Stoke Mill exceeded my expectations in every way.
The combination of delectable vegan dishes, a welcoming ambiance, and impeccable service made for an unforgettable evening. Stoke Mill has certainly earned its place as a top choice for all foodies with vegan dining included and I can't wait to return for another exceptional plant based meal."
What truly stood out was the genuine friendliness and enthusiasm of the staff. It was clear that they not only took pride in their work but also genuinely cared about the satisfaction of their customers, the efficiency of the service was remarkable. Despite being a busy evening (and we were a large party of diners) the staff managed to ensure that we received our orders promptly without compromising on quality.
Overall, my visit to Stoke Mill was made exceptional by the outstanding service provided by their staff. It's rare to find such a high level of professionalism, warmth, and efficiency in one place. I love the fact that it is a family run business with Ludo and his sons working together, I left feeling not only satisfied with my experience but also eager to return. Kudos to the entire team for their dedication...
Read moreFantastic! We booked for valentine's where it was a fixed tasting menu (when I say fixed, we were fine with the menu, but I heard other customer's asking for minor changes that the staff were only too willing to do their best to accommodate). We started with a wild mushroom cappuccino which was beautiful, then scallops with pork belly - the best scallops I have tasted by a very long way, and I would never have thought of this combination, amazing. This was followed with ballontine of chicken with truffle mayo and a chicken consommé, again lovely, then the most tender fillet of beef with braised shin, or crispy wrapped lemon sole - we tried both and it was tough to say who had the best - both were wonderful. And then the pre-dessert, a mango and yoghurt shot with sorbet that we could have eaten over and over again. Finally, assiette of chocolate featuring chocolate fondant, macaron (which was lemon rather than chocolate as described in the menu, but we didn't care, it was smashing), brownie, mousse and a sublime chocolate ice cream, and I don't even like chocolate ice cream! And it was a lovely touch to a valentine's menu to make the dessert something to share. I cannot recommend Stoke Mill enough - friendly staff, timely service, and absolutely wonderful food. Will definitely...
Read more5 for Sunday lunch. The starters were too large. Cheese soufflé was creamy and wet. The mackerel was rubbery and tasted unpleasant - my partner really disliked it and the emulsion, which tasted of coconut. I really like mackerel, but it wasn't pleasant, and he didn't want to make a fuss as it was a birthday celebration, so he said nothing until we were home. He said the best bit was the presentation and beetroot! The asparagus soup was nice but gelatinous. The main roasts were excellent, but all felt too thickly cut, especially the pork. Neither liked the 'school' roast potatoes - not a good texture or crispy. The salted cod was disappointing and too salty! The green vegetable medly was excellent, the cauliflower cheese had too much cheese and overwhelmed the cauliflower itself. The seabass was perfectly cooked and delicious. The crab cake was not particularly flavoursome- more bland potato, and the fennel was overwhelming salty, so the delicate flavour was stifled. The desserts were amazingly good, lemon posset with blueberries, the pannacotta with rhubarb, and the chocolate brownie. We are all, bar one, terribly keen cooks and foodies so discussed the food thoroughly. We enjoyed our lunch and felt it was good. We look forward to coming to Store...
