Berries Coffee — Restaurant in South Oxfordshire

Today I ordered 3 toasted sandwiches, 2 cookies and 3 drinks (x2 lattes x1 hot choc). I specifically asked that the drinks were made extra hot as I've used this establishment a few times with the drinks being at best luke warm. After my order was taken I asked the assistant to ensure that that the drinks were extra hot which she assured me they would be. Upon receiving my order some 10-15mins later (drinks/cookies first as they were still doing the sandwiches). I then carried my order (hands full to the extent I couldn't take off my mask!) to catch-up with wife/friend a 5-7mins walk away. Upon catching up with my wife/friend we each took a sip of our drinks to find to our disappointment that they were luke warm. We decided to eat our food (warm) (10-15mins) then return to the cafe to exchange our drinks as we had to walk back past it. The assistant took the drinks, but then I was confronted by the manager saying that the drinks were ordered 42mins ago and that some of the drink was missing (cups still filled 3/4). I explained that we had each only taken a sip, but that the froth had probably shrunk etc. The 42mins was from the time I had ordered, so add the 10-15mims waiting, 10-14mins walking to/from the establishment plus eating our food this was the reason. I couldn't believe the attitude of this establishment so told them not to worry, but that I wouldn't be using them again. I had seconds thoughts about using them today because of previous experience e.g. drinks never warm enough and their extortionate prices. (£32.50), but decided to use them. I'm very disappointed with this cafe, but know my comments will not make much if any difference as they are positioned centrally in town, but just hope my comment makes them think about their customer service or lack of it. Didn't get a chance to review food and drink so perhaps 1 star is unfair but this is the experience I have had today at this place. Whilst I was waiting to be served - no one in front of me so first in the queue the 2 ladies who were behind the till were more interested in talking to their friends( who had their drinks already) who were obviously served before me. That I could just about tolerate but then the server still didn't even acknowledge me or even just a friendly hi I will be with you soon as I'm happy to wait but I was ignored and then the server was standing looking on her phone not a quick check of the time but actively on/scrolling through her phone. Not impressed. We came here on Christmas Eve, not expecting it to be that full because it's not in a very busy part of town. My first complaint is the staff are very laid-back. You had about four different cakes to choose from, (all of which were expensive and very small). The coffee was lousy, too. You have three options for hot chocolate - Classic, Smooth and White. I asked for classic. She insisted that I choose Smooth, because it was 'sweeter', and less chocolate. So I did. The actual hot chocolate wasn't even hot, it wasn't sweet at all, and nor could I taste any chocolate. The cappuccino was light and watery and tasted of nothing at all.
