My wife and daughter in law visited this establishment on Saturday 14th May. They had three children with them one who was disabled in a over size wheelchair. They decided to use a outside table as the wheelchair was to big to fit into the cafe. My wife went to order the drinks and snacks, when she got to the front of the queue was informed she was in the wrong queue, she was told to go to the next queue.so my wife joined the next line once she got to the front, she was informed she was in the wrong line and to go back to the first line. My wife informed her she was told by the other staff member to join that queue. She was then told to go to a third till, my wife refused to move the staff refused to serve her. Breakfast was good and filling considering the reasonable price! You should specify if you want your yolk runny. Coffee here so far has been good but changeable: the americano I had black was rich and bold with a real nice aftertaste! One of the best americanos I've found in the area so far. The mocha I ordered to go was okay but I've had much better. It came with whipped cream, which was nice. The service is good - nothing exceptional, just simple, friendly service. It seems like a welcoming place for regulars. The atmosphere is mellow, depending on the time of day you come in. It seems to get a bit hectic at peak times since the kitchen is mostly in the main room. Nice low, ambient lighting with large windows along two walls. Boswell's Didcot have extremely friendly staff who will do anything they can for you even when the place is packed and they are run off their feet - this really makes me feel valued as a customer. I've been to other chains who shall remain nameless where people looked as they couldn't be bothered with me even though there was hardly anyone waiting to be served. They have an extensive menu which makes it so much more than a cafe, and the food is always hot. I do really like their All Day Breakfast on occasion, but my favourite is their Chicken Piri Piri panini, or the Tuna Melt if I feel like a change, with some lovely hot, crisp chips.
