No.25 Benson — Restaurant in South Oxfordshire

Having worked from home for pretty much my entire adult life, I am familiar with each and every coffee shop within a walkable distance from my home town - Wallingford. Over the past few months the river walk from Wallingford to Benson has become more frequent, particularly on a Thursday! Steph, Phil, and Darcey have created an extremely community-focused vibe in No 25, which welcomes people from all walks of life to indulge in coffee, teas, the most amazing homemade cake, and mouth-watering savoury dishes. They try to use ethical, sustainable, and locally sourced ingredients where possible in order to support small businesses just like themselves. This family run business knows what it stands for and stays true to its values.

Upon arrival, you are always greeted with a smile from ear to ear and a genuine interest in understanding how you and your family are. But be warned, you may end up leaving with more than you bargained for because their food is simply irresistible, even on a full tummy!

Thank you Steph, Phil, and Darcey, for bringing such a wonderful coffee shop to Benson... and for making me earn treats by walking out to see you!

We were just passing and wanted a good quality snack / coffee / lunch. You can tell as soon as you walk in that this place is different, thank goodness!

In my opinion, it has everything a great coffee shop should have:

Interior - bang on - smart, stylish yet relaxed. Customer service - excellent - friendly, energised, warm, welcoming and helpful. Savoury food offering - a selection to suit all tastes - great menu that was familiar enough to know what you liked and innovative enough to show it would be an appropriate break from the norm (if you get my drift). Coffee - superb - just the perfect blend for me. Cakes on the counter - look delicious, smell delicious, taste delicious. The only issue I have is I wanted to eat them all!

I can't fault this place, and although we live up near Oxford I would happily go out of my way to visit ... now looking forward to the next detour!!!

Lovely Spot for a Coffee Break

I recently visited No. 25 Coffee Shop in Benson and had a great experience overall. The quality of the coffee is genuinely very good — my Latte was excellent, smooth and well-balanced, definitely one of the better ones I’ve had on my travels.

I also tried one of their sausage rolls. While it was generously sized, it was just okay in terms of flavor. I was a little surprised it was served cold, especially as I wasn’t asked whether I’d like it heated up — a small detail, but one that would’ve made a difference.

That said, the ambience of the place more than made up for it. It has a warm, welcoming atmosphere that fits perfectly with the charm of the village. A great spot to relax and enjoy a...
