The welcome was spot on - I was met as I entered and asked where I would like to sit. When I said that I was meeting a friend his name was recognised at once and I was taken to his table. The service was friendly and the atmosphere relaxed: many customer groups included several generations and the general impression was of a place where families gather for a meal and coffee or coke, while at the next table friends meet for a snack and a pint. There was no loud 'music' and no large screens! Parking is restricted, and could at times be difficult. But a short walk back after hunting for a parking place would be well worth it. This is such a beautiful place. In a small little Village it has such a relaxing feel to it. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The service is good and the staff were attentive. The food was very good. It was served nicely. We had a Sunday lunch , there was a Yorkshire pudding, and meat and then you had vegetables and certain side dishes served separately. Eaten here a couple of times, it is usually food vans so not a reflection on the quality of the pub itself which is fantastic. One was literally reheated oven Pizza... don't think I need to elaborate 😬 Also had a very expensive and underwhelming roast (veg option literally a slice of roasted cauliflower for the same price as the meat roasts, with an optional side of not great cauliflower cheese at £5) but that was over a year ago now so possibly no longer relevant.
