Flamingo Pink — Restaurant in South Staffordshire

We’ve been coming to this restaurant for as long as I can remember - close to 30 years. After lastnight we will not return. I have never been spoken down to and treated in such a misogynistic way by the ‘manager’ of the restaurant. We had booked over 3 weeks ago for a birthday celebration for a party of mixed ages. We had asked for a central table to allow us enough room for the group. The manager admits we had, but another bigger table booked so he gave them preference. This was the start. The table was not cleared or ready they assigned us, so we had to wait almost 15 minutes past our booking time. So the balloons and banner etc for the birthday could not be placed before the guest arrival. No apology. They then squeezed us into a booth too small for the party, without the correct number of cutlery. Eventually someone came to take our drinks order, but walked off halfway through so I had to go to the bar - re order, then when the wine arrived, re order again. We placed our order, waited 15 minutes for popadoms, still without cutlery. These were cleared then had an hour and a half’s wait for the main course. We asked a number of times and were told it’s busy, it’s coming. Had I been with just my husband I’d have walked out. When the food arrived it was not to the usual standard. It was Luke warm, and two meals were bland and tasteless. Still not enough cutlery and we had to ask again. At this point we’d had enough, no one came to check if the meals were ok. I had tried to speak to the manger a number of times but he just smirked. I infer as I was a woman the smirking and excepting no responsibility for ruining our evening would have been addressed very differently if my husband had been there. The other staff agreed with what I had said but stated they were unable to do anything as he was the manager. No apology for any of the failures of the evening. I feel sorry for the staff, working under him, as he is only interested in taking as much money as possible at the detriment of quality and customer service. In all my years of visiting l have never seen him before, and now can understand why. Aside from the lack of taste and quality of the meals, his behaviour and attitude should not be allowed.
