They have got it right it's a lovely pub very friendly but it does get warm in there I suppose it's better than feeling cold, they have 10 different beers and a couple of ciders on offer but no corkscrew for corked wine as yet 😀, they do cobs and pork pies if you are hungry but no cooked food so you don't have loads of tables ready for people eating in. They have an outside area for smokers and also plenty of seats and tables outside for drinking out for when the weather gets better it is one of the nicest pubs in penkridge i will definitely keep on returning. Update 17th October 2022 we have visited this pub nearly every two weeks it is lovely but I found it unbelievable that a pub would not have red wine for sale only white or rosè that ruined the evening for me very very disappointing. The young man working the bar was so helpful and I couldn't fault his work ethics, it is still a great pub and I will return in the hope they will have sorted their...

Yesterday was our first visit, we just missed out on a hot pork sandwich so opted for the cheese and onion cobs instead (WHAT A SLAB OF CHEESE) they were so good, later I had a samosa and that was equally good but would have been better hot.
The place was much bigger on the inside than the frontage would suggest with an outside area. Spacious, clean with a good vibe and dog friendly, well presented toilets upstairs and disabled toilet on the ground floor.
Good selection of real ales as you'd expect, the youngman on the bar was initially serving on his own when we arrived, kept his cool was polite and professional, got through the queue at the bar in good order. I know from personal experience it's harder than it looks when there's lots of people waiting.
Would definitely recommend and fully intend on returning...
Read moreOne of the best pubs I've ever visited. Tucked away in a side street off the main road. Only a small frontage but large inside. A great selection of beers, lagers and ciders. The food is simple but delicious especially the pulled pork sandwiches on tiger bread. They also do baps (known as cobs in these parts) samosa, sausage rolls and more. As I said, simple but delicious. All areas are spotless. Special mention for the loos which are bright, modern and again spotless. The outdoor area at the rear is also a delight with both paved and grassy areas to choose from, making a fabulous 'local' atmosphere. We found this place when visiting Penkridge Market and make a point of visiting here every time we come to the market. All pubs should be...
