An amazing little gem, I've heard many people say this place was good but I never gave it a chance. What a mistake that was, I wish I would have given them a chance. On entry, it was a true British pub as the decor is exactly that, (with Christmas decorations as it tis the season). The staff were very welcoming and you could tell they knew there customers, especially the regulars as they had some pleasant banter, which was delightful. The prices on the menu was very fair, as it wasn't too expensive or nor to cheap, plus the prices are reflected in the quality of food as it was very good. The food was outstanding and the best reason to visit. I ordered the pie of the day (which was beef and mushrooms) and my wife ordered the chicken and djion mustard sauce. It took around 15 - 20 minutes which was perfect time to nice chat. The pie was presented beautifully, the puff pastry was tasty, whilst it exploded into flakes but I found this quite fun. The chips was nice and chrispy, I would have liked a few more but then again I can pack them away. The real prize was the filling and it has good quality meat, it was soo tender and it complemented to sauce. I did not get to try the wife's meal but I know it was good because as I tried to get a bit, she threatened me with her knife. The presentation was beautiful. The food was that good we even had dessert and it was also beautiful. I actually cannot fault this pub and they have everything right. Tldr - it's a really good pub

The photos are from December, enjoyed 3 great meals, each with a different friend that I had brought to see the amazing lights. Today though, I had been working around the corner at my daughter's so I crept in around 5 to see if there was any chance of a Sunday lunch. No beef left but I still had a choice of three meats, I had a generous helping of pork with the largest selection of vegetables I've ever had. Swede mash, roast parsnip, green beans, carrots, cauliflower, sprouts, broccoli, cabbage, roast potato, mashed potato and boiled potato! There was such a selection that there was just enough of each so as not to overload. All were cooked to perfection, nothing soggy...... fabulous food and at a very reasonable price. Not sure of the price, but this fabulous lunch, a pint of beer and a drink for the delightful landlady came to £12.80. The Summer House never fails to deliver on quality or service. Friendly management and staff.

I enjoyed the good here.. sat outside a ms the weather was warm and inside seemed overcrowded and stuffy. Good served up till 3 If I remember correctly so got there just in time. I ordered the garlic mushrooms to start - they were done really nice... I enjoyed the sauce and the bread that came with them to dip in excess sauce was handy and super soft and fresh. Mushrooms were nice and big.. very tasty. I hear the double lamb burger for main.. it was fine.. I have had better... but it wasn't terrible. There chips are crispy and chunky, couldn't eat them all as quite a bit portion. Kids had pizza and chips. The main issue I had was the lack of access, I had a puschair but no ramp, so had to bring down stairs myself.... luckily someone helped when I was coming out. Other than that no other issues... staff seemed nice enough.

Sadly, I have to leave a bad review, I hate leaving these and if I am leaving one it's for information.

We arrived and were quite excited for a good meal after a long journey. We did not book, but this seemed to not be a problem as they were able to sit us quite nicely.

The pub itself was not busy I'd say 4 tables were either done or on desserts, there were only two tables, us and another that had not long sat down.

We were told she would be through shortly, we waited 10 minutes, doesn't seem like a long time, but when you have yet been offered drinks and been scanned by another waitress who practically ignored us, it kind of set the tone to how the rest of the experience would be.

I also witnessed another table ask for a top up and have to ask for the cheque. It appeared that people had to wait for a long time, unless you knew the staff who were happy to serve you almost immediately.

I am devastated as we read reviews for every place we go to and to have read some amazing ones we were excited for our experience.

I don't know if it was because it was Sunday and the staff just didn't want to be...

I've driven past this pub dozens of time. I live 7 minutes away yet tonight was my first visit. The food was absolutely beautiful. The interior of the pub isnt glam or trendy, but that's not needed when the quality of the food is this high. I had fish goujons for starter, and lamb burger as a main. The portions were very generous, and my only regret being I was too full to ask for the dessert menu! I couldn't help but feel FOMO when seeing other customers food passing my table! The pies looked epic, the size of the pastry! They had a sweet and sour chicken special that looked delicious! I spotted a sea bass which looked beautiful...can't wait to go back and try other things on the menu! The pub was clean, wait staff were attentive, and our drinks were kept full. I asked for a meal to take away for my partner and they were very accomodating, even keeping it warm and waiting for when i was leaving. Considering id ordered a starter, two mains a 3 drinks I thought my £30 bill was reasonable. Im already planning...
