I was so excited to eat at the restaurant as it was somewhere new which my better half had said she enjoyed previously. To start off with the restaurant were well prepared for measures against Covid 19 and staff were all wearing masks and there was rules put in place to protect everyone including hand sanitiser at the entrance. My issues are really the attention to details of the serving staff and the quality of the food which I ordered. My first course was spicy chicken wings which I would hope would of been made in house, however I can only imagine to be ones purchased premade and just bunged in an oven. At £4.50ish the quantity and quality were very poor compared to what I was expecting.
For main course I had ordered the mixed grill with steak, chicken and hand made chips. When the mains arrived my food arrived first and then after a couple of minutes my wife's turned up and then after another 5 minutes waiting for cutlery my food had become cold. So I had to ask for a replacement which was quickly served but yet again my last set of cutlery was taken away and I had to ask after a couple of minutes waiting for a new set. The size and quality of the food was very poor for one of the most expensive meals at £15. With a single onion ring, small lettuce leaf and a baby tomato as the side salad, I was very let down. I have eaten the same at a wetherspoons for half the price and better quality.
The serving staff also just needed to pay a little more attention to the little things as we were not the only ones to be forgotten. One couple near i Us were waiting a fair while to have their order taken, and had to ask twice for it to be placed and all three tables in our section had to ask for cutlery whenever their courses had been served. Other simple things like walking away after delivering our food to the table but not asking if we would like condiments for our meals. In all fairness my wife's meal was nice which she enjoyed, however I just felt let down and would struggle to want to...
Read moreIt's a place where it's more about the decor than the plate to be brutally honest. The a la carte starters were great but main courses were very much " fish & chips" we spent £190 between 4 people. The dance music was a bit too loud In The restaurant to be able to have meaningful conversation. The mains were average fodder. "Quorn" vegan burgers, nothing original.. Pasta, pizza all a bit bland, nothing local, produce wise other than the staple black pudding, so much more could be made of the menu. An opportunity missed in my opinion for such an up coming community. Drinks and cocktails were different class, you could be allowed to think you were in a metropolitan hub as far as the drinks were considered. Outstanding! Bravo... Sort out the menu, make it more locally cultured and sustainability wise it could match your drinks. We are all a bit fed up of boring pasta and pizza, excite us and be inclusive and original and you would be outstanding!! Would I come back??? For drinks yes, food... Well bolognase pizza does not do it for me I'm afraid... Step up food wise and...
Read moreOn Sunday my friends and I visited this restaurant for Sunday lunch, with our children. We have thoroughly enjoyed our previous visits to this restaurant however this time I cannot say the same, Due to the long wait for food our children became unsettled, Children are children and can become unsettled at any time, which cannot always be controlled. With best efforts we were unable to settle the children as they were hungry and becoming impatient. A member of staff approached the table with an abrupt manner and demanded that we must stop our children from crying, any parent knows this is easier said than done! Therefore we left the restaurant immediately. No parent should be subjected to this type of humiliation or lack or support and understanding, I would like to suggest trying to provide your guests with colouring activities for the children to maybe calm them down next time. Unfortunately due to this incident we will not be returning, hopefully your interaction with families with children can improve for the sake of...
