Mambos Express Restaurant & Bar — Restaurant in South Tyneside

Would definitely not recommended Mambos Express. This is the second time I've ordered and it turned up really late. Pre-ordered for new years eve as I assumed it would be busy. Placed my order at 2pm for 8.30pm delivery. 8.50pm I called up and was told the 8.30pm orders were just being made, the lady took my name and assured me she would make sure my order was one of the next one's to be prepped and would be with us by 9.30. 9.30pm came and went. My husband called up and spoke to a girl I won't name who basically called me a liar. I took over the call and the staff member told ME that I would never have been told my order was going to be there by 9.30 and when I said do you think I would have waited all this time if I was told otherwise? Do you think I'm lying? She said yes.I was then told by said staff member the 8.30 orders were just being prepared now and ours was just leaving.The order arrived at 10.10 pm in a Richmond taxi. Definitely not worth the money and hassle. Seemed like a nice thing to do for NYE but ruined the mood being called a liar on the phone. When talking to others about it, it seems to be a standing joke they can't get their orders out on time. I just don't understand why they would continue to take orders so late into NYE if they can't manage the demand. We weren't even made aware our order was...

Absolutely horrific experience. Ordered online at 2.30pm for food delivery at 8.30pm. Food arrived at 10.15pm, nearly 2 hours late. Not to mention the girl on the phone lying to me about my order details to buy them time. Food arrived in a taxi cold and rank. At first I thought this was incompetence, but it's not, it's greed. Taking too many orders, taking the cash but can't provide a service. I have spoken to lots of people from South Shields and this lot are well known for it. However, to my surprise, I have discovered a lot of recent 5 star reviews? I will never use...

Ordered for the first time in a while as had a discount code to use which had been emailed. I had to collect from Bun Bun next door. Food was excellent I ordered the Pollo Pancetta which was beautiful and my wife ordered the Milanese Diavola.

We ended up giving each other half of the others as they were both so nice.

Only downside was that even for collection there was an hour wait, however the food was well worth the wait.

I think in busier times they may need to get some extra chefs on.
