The Yellow Welly, oh, what a wild adventure in café experiences! The staff, as welcoming as they are, must have some secret contest going on for “who can be the most ever so slightly abusive.” It’s like they’re in a constant battle of wits with the customers, or maybe just me! and you’re just along for the ride. But honestly, it adds a dash of humor to your morning caffeine and baguette fix.
Now, let’s talk about the food. It’s so good that you might consider moving into the café permanently. Every dish is a taste explosion, and you’d be willing to trade your first-born for their full English breakfast, And the best part? It won’t cost you your first-born because it’s incredibly well-priced.
But, there’s a tiny rain cloud in this sunny review. Allison Bolam bless her heart, who dropped a two-star rating based on cost, nothing about the service or food quality. It’s like she’s stuck in a time machine, reminiscing about the 1950s when a cup of tea was a shilling. Come on, Allison!, It’s a bit like giving a five-star hotel two stars because the minibar isn’t free. The world has evolved since then! Let’s not fault local businesses for keeping up with the times. A big thank you for looking after me and all your loyal customers come rain or shine. All the great reviews are a testament to The...
Read more5 Star Hygiene Rating displayed on the door, and very worthy of it, you feel you could eat your food from the floor. Visually as you walk in, you can see it's a clean/hygienic environment, and well managed. They take pride in what they do, and the food they produce. I had breakfasts in the morning, which consisted of baguettes with fillings, then they were providing lunch for a small group during a course I was on, and ALL thoroughly loved the food. They genuinely provide quality food, the butchers sausages are to die for, full of flavour. I thanked you personally, but I'd like to thank you publicly for your attentiveness, professionalism and great food. I'll see you again in the...
Read moreI only popped in to buy a sausage & egg baguette, while in the area, it’s located in Shamrock Quay. There is a menu & it all looks good, catering for all tastes. It’s a basic looking cafe, none of your thrills or ostentatiousness but it’s clean & just does what it says on the tin. There were a couple of people sat at tables eating, so I imagine it attracts locals as well passers-by like myself & sailors. It’s all cooked & prepared in front of you, I waited about 10mins & in that time others had came in & ordered. There’s plenty of pay park but no idea of the charge. Worth a visit if you’re hungry or have the need...
