The Dell — Restaurant in Southampton

We had a fantastic Mother’s Day meal on Sunday 30th March at The Dell Pub! We are greeted by several members of staff, all cheerful and very welcoming.

Our main waiter was Kai and he was wonderful, taking really good care of us and always checking on us to see if we wanted any more drinks and generally chatting to us, such a nice guy!

There was a great atmosphere there and all the Staff were happy and attentive adding to the experience of a wonderful “pub” with amazing food. Loved all the old Saints photos around the pub! 4 of our party had the roast dinners and it was one of the best roasts we had all ever had! Meat and vegetables were plentiful and served with delicious gravy, all credit to the chefs! There were two mums in our party and we had our roast dinners for free which was a lovely gesture! 4 of our part had sweets too which they thoroughly enjoyed! I was too full to have one after the roast!

We weren’t rushed and it was just perfect unlike some other places we have been to on Mother’s Day! We will definitely be returning!

Tried The Dell Pub for a Sunday roast and to watch the football. Unfortunately, despite booking ahead, I was told on arrival there were no roasts (and parts of the main menu unavailable) due to a busy weekend. With only two other customers in at the time, a quick phone call beforehand would have been appreciated.

As for the football, it was a disappointment. The pub is heavily advertised as a football venue, yet generic music played over the speakers instead of match commentary, and part of the big screen was taken up by internal adverts.

That said, the staff were friendly and I genuinely felt for them having to apologise repeatedly to the handful of customers there. Hopefully this was...

Popped in this evening to take advantage of the 'mums eat for free' offer this week. First time eating there and definitely won't be our last!! Food was fantastic and there was loads of it. The photos don't do it any justice! All the staff were great, friendly and helpful and the pub itself is really nice and dog friendly (on non match days). Plenty of screens when there's sports on, loads of seats and a few dart boards if you fancy a game. Look forward to...
