Costa Coffee — Restaurant in St Albans

We had been there for a drink that we didn’t know the name of, so we asked the guy working there. He told us a few names and we picked one. When we realised that the drink was not what we had in mind, we decided to order another drink instead. Obviously, we didn’t ask for a refund or anything because we had chosen the first drinks ourselves.

However, when we asked if we could get two more drinks, he rolled his eyes. When I asked which one had dried strawberries, he said “Strawberry Chiller” with a tone that clearly implied, “I already told you”. He was very rude.

He then went inside and came back out to say they had run out of strawberry syrup, which didn’t seem very realistic to us. If he doesn’t like working there, he...

For the third time in a row, I ordered a breakfast tea and they used a PG tips bag not Twinings. There is a small "Twinings tea bag" box but it contains PG tips at the moment. A month ago, things were fine and the tea tasted beautiful because it was Twinings. £2.10 for PG Tips, that's not right. On a more positive note, the staff are good, friendly and seem to process the orders in a timely manor, provided it's not Saturday lunch time! I love the LC Costa, I just wish they would use Twinings tea bags! Perhaps it's a supply chain issue.

Slow service even taking into account they were busy. Saw a gingerbread latte advertised behind the counter and it looked good so I ordered one. It came to me with coffee and cream all slopped down the sides of the glass and no gingerbread man. When I protested I was told bluntly that there's a supply problem with the gingerbread men! So why didn't she tell me when I ordered it then? So I ended up with a lukewarm sticky glass without the gingerbread man that is there on the big poster behind the barrista! Waste of my time and money....
