Called in on a Monday evening (20:10) as I was staying in the area and didn't want to eat the preheated food on offer. Walked in, and the place was empty. The bartender asked how he could help. I asked about food. "Sorry, the kitchen is closed on a Monday night" OK! Walked outside. The A board told a different story. I walked further on and had a lovely Indian meal.

Just had a lovely lunch sitting outside in the sunshine at this lovely little pub. A very well poured pint of cold Guinness by a charming bar girl. Delicious hand thick cut ham on a fresh soft ciabatta with English mustard. Very clean interior, very friendly service, very reasonable prices, can highly recommend and will definitely be back!

Stopped by for food yesterday evening and came back for lunch today as food was great. All home cooked. Amazing choice. Kids food was also very good (actual fish in fish fingers and chicken breast in goujons etc) Great value for money. Only few minutes from Holiday Inn Express to head to Harry Potter World.

I am not too impressed with the place and the service which is a shame because it is located in one of the nicest areas of London Colney. We went there for and early lunch only to be told that they are not cooking because they are doing a stock-check.The lady who served us was very apologetic but the member of staff who came out of the kitchen to explain the reason why they were not taking any food orders didn't really seem to care.To be honest,if they advertise food available from 12 o'clock, they should do the stock-check at 11 to be ready to open the kitchen in time.I counted 6 other people coming in and trying to order food, unsuccessfully. It is quite strange that when businesses are struggling to remain open post lockdown and in these very uncertain Covid times, the management of the place can afford to send so many people away to a different pub (The Bull on the other side of the river).I think it is quite a nice place for a drink on a sunny day as the location is lovely and they have plenty of outdoor sitting. The interior however, is quite dark, depressing and not particularly clean (there were peanuts and crisps on the seats at the start of the day evidently not cleared up from the...

This is a very nice looking pub overlooking a charming river... Which makes it extra unfortunate that its staff are so unnecessarily rude and don’t take any basic food safety precautions whatsoever. I bought an avocado salad with shrimp and, after 40 minutes waiting for a single salad, I asked for my money back so I could go back to my job. One of their staff members asked me to wait while she went to the kitchen. After 5 minutes she brought me a poorly presented salad - clearly forgotten in the kitchen - inside a takeaway box. I objected to taking the takeaway salad and again requested a refund. I stated that I didn't pay for takeaway, but to eat in the pub; and reminded them about said salad having shrimp and the dangers of food poisoning. After being humiliated for reasonably requesting a refund, she and the kitchen chef (which from what I gathered was the manager in charge), forced me to take the neglected shrimp salad. I left completely mortified by the way I had been treated. The staff do not have the slightest care for their patrons safety and health and above all...

Service mediocre, setting lovely, food though.... horrendous unfortunately. Very disappointing unfortunately. Vegetarian curry (sweet potato, chickpea and spinach supposedly)- honestly, I could find no spinach or chick peas whatsoever, and two minute tiny bits of sweet potato so I'm not sure what it was made of. Kids spaghetti & meatballs - very dry, low quality, overcooked and tasteless I'm afraid. Kids Fish & chips average but not even crispy batter. Salmon pasta ordered only to be told 20 mins + later that they - had run out but not told of that till quite some time after first ordering, almost until the other food had arrived. Finally, with an ice cream sign out the front, and having asked about it on way in and during ordering - being told different things (yes available, some / limited options, only one flavour), finally to be told it was also unavailable / machine didn't work just at the end of the meal.... was...
