Helpful staff but the mixed grill was just bad. And I mean really bad even by the UK trash food standards. I have been in Turkish restaurants that had 10 times better quality than this. As the proverb goes, "fool me once, shame on you. fool me twice, shame on me." I don't think there will be a second time. Btw, 7£ for the 500ml beer? Really? I only went there because a polish friend wanted to. I regretted letting him influence me. What was I thinking? As you can see from the pictures of the chairs, the chairs are not designed so you can sit and relax while enjoying your food. Two vertical poles are pressing your back and the actual back-support is behind them! Whose idea was it anyway to buy them? Another rather unfortunate thing I just noticed is that the owner responds in a rather rude manner to customers leaving a negative review. Mate, I paid good 💰 for that food and you served me some junk. Just try not to repeat the same mistake in the future and apologize to the unhappy customers, will you? This restaurant would not even survive a year in Greece with this quality. In the UK though, it thrives as a "Greek" restaurant and the owner most likely brags about it even if he/she should either fix it or just close it. On the bright side, this experience solidified my belief that I must never ever go to a "Greek restaurant" unless I have good references by some trustworthy greek friend if mine first. Why would I visit this place before even checking the reviews left by other Greeks (the least to say)? Anyway, enough with my broken 💖 review, I think you all got it by now. AVOID, AVOID, AVOID! (Did I say that I will not recommend this place to any of my 5000 colleagues?) Edit: the staff was NOT WEARING MASKS.

Excellent Greek food at a reasonable price point! Came here with a bunch of mates early in the evening well before our 6pm book and were happily seated without fuss. After some time to digest the menu, our order was promptly taken of which we decided to have the aubergine (egg plant is American goddamit!) cheese and hummus dips, the mixed grill with our veggie buddy ordering the halloumi souvlaki wrap (shame on him!). We noticed that all the dips came with 4 quarter pieces of a flat bread, so ordering the three drips meant we had a lot of flatbread to get through to start. When the mixed grill arrived, that came with even more flat bread!!! So definitely one to remember for next time! On top of flatbread, the mixed grill itself consisted of a huge variety of well seasoned greek style meats and chips with some tzatziki in the middle. It was beautiful. Every cut of meat tasted delicious and none of it was spared. Completely forgot the existence of the tzatziki and side salad... Anyhow, it was an incredibly satisfying meal and will definitely be visiting again. Service was as you'd expect, nothing amazing but couldn't complain! All in all, I'd definitely recommend a visit if you're in the area.

A friend treated me to a meal here - and what a treat! We had to 'do an early one' and so got to this modern, clean Greek establishment for 6.30 pm on a Monday evening. It was quiet but by the time we had to leave, 8 pm, it had got busy and there was a real buzz - great atmosphere Sipping a 'serious' Mojitr my friend ordered for us: Calamari Spicy Baked Feta Giant Beans Cheese Balls with Home-made Jam Feta Saganaki Pork and Chicken Platter Simply - absolutely delightful! Could not find fault ! ..... generous portions of perfectly cooked and well presented, tasty, quality foods All efficiently delivered to our table by a really proffessional yet friendly Waitress The final praise - they're happy to offer (and I willingly accepted!) "a Doggy Bag"

Really sad to share my experience at Souvlaki City last night, as I would rather champion local businesses, but the experience was soo bad, I have little choice.

Came for food with my fiance and children, scanned the menu, ordered food and drinks and was served promptly.

The problems started from there, with both a lamb and chicken gyros being served, when we had actually been debating which to have, rather than choosing both. As it was an honest mistake born out of collective confusion, we accepted the extra portion, saying that we'd have it for lunch the next day.

They have 2 sizes of plates for the mains, I chose a small plate which when it arrived consisted of some thick cut chips and 2 small home made burgers which were dry and very bland in taste.

I didn't complain as my kids were enjoying their Calamari and I just put it down to a bad selection on my part.

As we were finishing our meal, the chips that we'd ordered to come with the Calamari arrived, 20 minutes after we'd ordered them, so I politely sent them back asking for them to take them off the bill.

When the bill arrived, not only were the late chips still present, but they had charged me £19.50 for my small plate, which was clearly a mistake and when I raised this, the trouble started.

We were accused of trying to pull a fast one, told that we had made a mistake, that we were wrong and despite all of the problems we'd experienced from the start, we had to pay £19.50 for some chips and a bunless burger.

The manageress was argumentative and made us feel that we were being unreasonable saying 'give us a 1 star review, blah blah blah'

It really was an upsetting experience and very...

I didn't take any photos, rarely do anymore but we have just left and our experience was somewhat different to the last person who reviewed.

As a Cypriot family, we would normally head to Tavernaki or Mitzi Tavernaki in Brookmans Park but on our daughters name day, we thought we'd give this local find a try, being new to the area. And it was worth it! I mean good enough for us to be surprised that we hadn't heard of Souvlaki City previously.. We had Calamari, Skordalia, Saganaki for starters, now bear in mind I'd never had either Saganaki (normally avoid the Greek sesame) or Skordalia but I will go back there for them. I'm even gonna have a dig at making Skordalia myself, I could eat a bowl of that. They were both amazing. For mains my wife and mother in law wanted to "test" the pork souvlaki and they thought it was delicious. My daughter and I had the Bifteki and couldn't finish it (more because of the starters lol). It was also delicious especially when we were trying to stuff it all together in the pitta like a gyro, great fun. I had a beer in an almost frozen glass which is a nice touch. The only thing I can't rate or comment on is desserts, I just couldn't so didn't even ask. Didn't even thank them properly on the way out as I was late for my parking.

All in all, as a Greek family we were very happy with the food, service and price. We will be going back and we will be taking out too.

Very well done and thank you for making our lives a little easier when we next want a...
