The Queen of Hearts in Redbourn is fabulous, I give it a Strictly 🔟. 💃 Andrea creates a cosy and friendly atmosphere, all the staff are helpful, nothing is too much trouble. The food is excellent, everything on the menu is good and tasty, beautifully served and for special occasions the Cream Tea! 🧁🍰…. with or without a glass of fizz! 🥂

The setting is lovely, Andrea has great taste and a good eye for detail, lovely china teapots and teasets, fresh flowers on the tables, even some fine china used for decoration. 🫖☕️. The Queen of Hearts is based in the centre of Redbourn, on the High Street so you can’t miss it, not far from the M1Junction 9.

We have been to the Comedy nights there too, when the Queen of Hearts becomes a venue for food and fun, we shared a graze board, with Prosecco, prior to the show, you can take your drinks upstairs too. Three Stand Up comedy acts, so far they have all been really good, last time, I was still laughing the next day! It’s great… and it’s food for the soul.

Andrea and her team helped create the most amazing themed Harry Potter special birthday party for my 74 people! From our initial chat on what I was hoping to achieve to the actual day turned to reality last weekend! The attention to detail on set up, tables, decorations and the most amazing themed cocktails and food set the scene when my guests started to arrive through to the end of the night! Nothing was left unturned! During the preparation time in the lead up to the party Andrea was keeping me updated and making suggestions of some things I hadn’t considered which was great. The afternoon tea was to die for! Andrea recommended the local jazz band and they were just brilliant and fish and chips from the local fish and chip shop later on into the evening hit the spot from my guests! It really was a great idea from Andrea. The team on the day were spot on with everything and got into the magical spirit dressing up! Very attentive, polite and hard working. Afternoon tea for 2 people was disappointing. The sandwiches were less than average, but then we noticed there was foreign material on the edges of the sandwich strips. We were told fresh sandwiches were being prepared. What appeared back were the same sandwiches with the contaminated edges trimmed off. Sandwiches is a generous word, these were now slithers of what was already a small sandwich strip. We know these were the same sandwiches because one of them had a tiny bit of cucumber in the egg mayo. That bit was still there. The cakes were disappointing, specifically the unpleasant and artificial tasting cupcakes. The only saving grace were the scones but only one for each person. While things can go wrong and not necessarily anyone's fault, it's how you resolve the issue and care for your customers. There was an apology, but we were not offered something else off the menu since they could not make fresh sandwiches. We were charged full price for 2 afternoon teas, including service charge. £60+ paid for a poor experience. Would not recommend this place for...
