Friends took me today for a birthday treat, four people. After travelling from Liverpool, we had breakfast as soon as we arrived and the food and service were wonderful. After we went to the lavender field, which was lovely though not as big as we expected, we then did some shopping before going to the sunflower field and buying some of the flowers, again lovely. I wanted to treat my friends to a bottle of Prosecco and found I had to order from a service hatch if we were sitting outside. Not a problem at all but the young lady asked if I could come back in 10 minutes. Again, not a problem. However, when I did go back the gentleman who attended the window asked me to return in another 10 minutes. When I said I had already waited that length of time he slammed the window in my face and locked it!!! Needless to say I was furious and very disappointed by this treatment, which was totally unwarranted and unacceptable. We had intended to have a late lunch there but we left immediately, never to return. This man spoiled the entire experience, which was a shame as the female staff were so helpful and pleasant despite being rushed off their feet on such a lovely sunny day. Yes, I would recommend it to anyone but do NOT get food or drink from this man. Take a picnic - there are plenty of tables - enjoy the fields, browse the shops, then leave. Customer service such as this is a disgrace for a place which is unique in that area and gives the whole enterprise nothing but bad publicity. Need to up your game or employ people who actually have pride...
Read more1st time I've been here, even though it's only 15 minutes from where I live. Met up with my sisters for first time in over 12 months to have some dinner. Food was lovely, staff were very friendly and helpful. The place is easy to get to, being literally just next to the Rainford bypass. They have a Facebook page and the Cherry Orchard Tearoom, which is at the farm also has its own Facebook page. They have a re-imagined furniture shop which sells all kinds of interesting bits and pieces. There is also a Dog Barn shop for all things for your dog's like treats, harnesses, toys and even ice cream for dogs. Owners of both shops were lovely. There is a bicycle repair shop there but wasn't open the day we were there. Overall, a very enjoyable afternoon. We're planning on going back in a couple of weeks as they have an Artisan Market every 2nd Sunday...
Read moreThe lines were terribly long. A few short films played: Olaf's frozen adventure, stickman, gruffalo's child and, a family favourite, snowman. Food; pizza, hot dogs and hot drinks. Just my opinion but I wouldn't go there again because there wasn't much too see, no farm animals or christmassy reindeer just hay bales. I wouldn't reccomend going before your time slot or you'll just get bored because they don't let you go into the area where the good stuff are (like Santa's grotto and christmas hat making were you decorate a Santa hat with stickers) because we went into the queue but then an elf came up to us and told us we had to wait a bit to queue. They also said when we could rejoin the queue than the line only takes 10 mins. It took about half an hour (because they sold too many tickets). Sorry if this sounds like a...
