Leo's Bar & Grill — Restaurant in St Helens

Went here today for lunch with my mother and my experience was horrendous totally unprofessional staff. We went here for some lunch and on arriving I asked if it was okay to eat outside and was told that it would be okay so we sat at a table and waited to be served. The waiter came across and asked what we would like to drink so we put our order in and within a few minutes our drinks arrived 👌 at this point I got a card machine shoved into my face and was told to pay. I said can I have the bill all at once to told no. We put our food orders in and everything was going well until the waiter came back while my mother was still eating and shoved the card machine into my face again as asked me to pay at this point I said go away as I wasn’t paying as my mother was still eating. The waiter then went on to argue with me and I told him to go and get someone else to come and get the payment as I wasn’t dealing with him. He then went back inside and threatened to call the police which I said go on then. Within a few minutes another gentleman came out who I believe it to have been the manager who I paid with no issues and explained how unprofessional his staff were and all he could say was that he would have a word. So all I can say about the place is the food was lovely but the staff are horrendous and that u can’t see myself going back there...

Absolute disaster 😡😡😡😡 Never been before and was recommended but will NEVER go back. Arrived and waited 40 minutes to be seated, had to go outside as not enough room. Waited over 1hr for a starter, then waited another 2hrs and still no main meal. Had to go to bar to find out what happening as nobody came to table to keep up updated. Was told there was no food left. I had to ask for a full refund or else they would have just left us all night. We had children with us and they were starving. The poor staff got the brunt of everyone’s anger as this was happening to everyone. Food was being sent back as it was cold. Families where half fed and others no food was sent out for them. It was a shit show from start to finish. Had to even ask for toilet roll and crackers for the table. I feel sorry for anyone who’s going for dinner today and I hope they have learnt a hard lesson. It was overbooked and badly managed. Shout out the young girl and lad in there she was a little star and was so upset by all what was happening and especially on Christmas Day x I hope they ready these comments and get back to each and everyone of us. Food took a very long time to come out when it did was very nice hot However whilst the children’s meals were well cooked and tasty we requested no cheese on the pasta because of milk intolerance and there was cheese on it they changed one when asked but the other was refused and we were told there wasn’t any on it and refused a cheese free one by a very abrupt waitress until we complained to someone else Said waitress spoiled the evening with her attitude ineptitude and her repeated inability to do her job She collected knives from the table and stuck them in my arm apologised and did it again ! She dropped things on at least five occasions the worst being plates with food on that splashed sauce all over 2 coats and proceeded to spray a suede jacket with detergent to get the stain off!! Then she placed dirty plates on top of someone’s plate as they were still eating and took it away We spent £500 on food as it was a special occasion I must point out the food was excellent although main meals a little small well cooked tasty hot well presented The rest of the staff were friendly enough and welcoming but no would not...
