Great little bakery tucked away on St Martin's at the Highertown end. Cakes, sandwiches, pasties, sausage rolls and you can also get a coffee and sit out on the tables outside. Sparrows here love the cake crumbs and will eat out of your hand. Always worth a visit if you are on St Martin's.

Great fresh produce, I would highly recommend the Bakery. I guess some might like more choice but I favour quality over range, after all this is a small island caterer and not, thank goodness, a chain store. Add to that the fantastic setting.

Lovely cake and tea, well placed in the center of Higher town.St Martin's, Isles of Scilly. Visited in October, so not much open but The Bakery were doing a roaring trade. watch out for the sweet but marauding Scilly sparrows.

Underwhelmed at the selection and quality. Many people recommend this bakery as a place to pick up something savory for lunch on a day visit to St Martin’s island. Based on my experience, I am left wondering why. My partner and I went there at 12:30pm and the food choice was really poor with some sandwiches and slices of quiche remaining. Unfortunately, we were not able to experience the highly acclaimed Cornish pasty. The staff advised us that typically they are sold out by 9.30am. As we were visiting from St Mary’s, we would have never have had a chance of sampling the pasty as the first boats leave 10am or later. Our disappointment at missing out on the pasty, and seafood options did not deter us and we decided to sample two different types of quiche. Both were average in taste and the composition and texture reminded me of an amateur effort or budget production. Maybe we were unlucky on the day of our visit, maybe with some foresight we would have gone earlier. Whilst I don’t wish to sound like I have a case of sour grapes, I feel it is fair to say it as I found it, which is an overrated bakery serving food of average...

Stayed on St.Martins and used this bakery several times. Whilst the bread etc is good (you have to get there early to have a chance of getting any though) the Baker himself is very rude, no matter how polite you are when you go into the shop. This is also the experience of other families we spoke to staying on the island. He was passive aggressive and rude to a friend of ours asking a basic query. This establishment acts like they are doing you a favour by even selling you anything. The attitude is unacceptable. If you really hate tourists so much perhaps consider doing...

We always call in at The Island Bakery when we visit St. Martin's - it's a must! Barney, Ella and their team work so hard and are always so welcoming, with a great choice of tasty treats...but get there early before they sell out! Everything was absolutely delicious as always - we had a Cornish Pasty, Bacon Frazzle and Cheese and Tomato Pastry followed by Shortbread and White Chocolate and Cranberry Cookie. Once we had bought them, we decided we couldn't wait, and had a very early lunch! We sat outside, and we're soon joined by the friendly sparrows!...
