I visited here with a large group of friends for my birthday on their 3rd night after opening, which will give this review more context. The restaurant is a great spacious eating area (much like Ashiana before it) with the grill at the far end.
From our large group, 10 of us were having the set meal which at £19 is good value. However the food came out a little disorganised and it wasn't apparent to some of the waiting staff who was having the set meal but also not apparent to those eating it how much you got (as it was delivered on sharer plates). Essentially the portions were huge. They also missed 3 mains off when the rest came out which was rectified after a short wait. My only other slight negative is the price of drinks. £4.25 for a 330ml bottle of Peroni (and all other beers) is near on astronomical in Stafford. That said most of the issues we experienced I'm happy to put down to teething issues and the sheer size of our group. I'm sure these will be ironed out and I will visit again because of all the positives I shall now mention.
The Cold Meze starter platter was delicious, be sure to save some pitta bread for it if that comes out first. It was a mixture of humous, cous cous, tzatziki, olives and more absolutely delicious!
The main was an epic plate of grilled meats with a side salad. Go with a huge appetite because the portions are massive! I also liked that they gladly handed out 'doggie bags' to take excess food home.
Finally I would like to say, and apologies for not getting his name, the young male waiter who took our order and looked after us was a great addition to the team. He organised some of the other waiting staff well when the mass of orders came out and he gave my friends a complimentary extra meal when there order was initially missed. All in all a nice experience with friendly staff and tasty food be sure...
Read moreCame for dinner with my family. The staff were amazing our waitress was a lovely young lady very friendly and helpful. Food was amazing as always. The atmosphere was so much fun. Made the wait for food more bearable. Unfortunately our experience was let down by the rude unprofessional manager. He obviously was unable to cope with the pressure of how busy it was. We were given a 2 hour slot. We arrived 5 mins late due to no parking, then had to wait 10 mins for our table. Before I had even sat down I was told we needed to order quickly as they have more people booked in for 8pm who need our table. The food took almost 40 mins to come out. Once we had finished our food, We wanted to order desert and was told No as the manager had told the waitress we have to leave as people are waiting for our table. I felt that was unfair as the food took so long to come out that, we didn't have enough time left to have desert or even just enjoy our food, i felt like we were being rushed and constantly watched by the manager. What makes it worse is other tables that were there before us who were also a large party, were allowed to stay longer which was confusing. If they have people waiting then why are they not rushing other people also? Even when we asked for the bill the manager was looking as to why we were still sat at the table. He then told our waitress to take us to the till to pay as again they need the table. The lady who served us could not have been more apologetic. As you could tell she felt embarrassed by his behaviour. This restruant definitely deserves 5 stars the staff and the food is amazing, but due to the rudeness of the manager I had to...
