Thought I would try somewhere different and booked a table for 2 early on a Saturday night, June 22nd. Reviews looked good, so I gave it a go. Oh dear, how I wish I hadn't! On arrival quiet but soon had @3/4 tables, staff looked nothing like website, it was as though they had just walked off the street to cook and serve. Service was okay at best, chicken satay and duck roll starters really nice so was looking forward to mains. We ordered a poor looking chicken with sweet n sour sauce & vegetables, seen better in a super market for a few quid, looked bland, raw cauliflower and broccoli with bland sauce, I ordered "chef special" marinated steak in a chilli sauce which was a sizzler.... sirloin steak was tasteless, not been seasoned yet alone marinated, no sizzle and all in what can be described as tasteless coloured water which reminded me of a puddle. Asked the waitress if this is the dish described on menu, lied and said yes. I didn't want anything else as both mains, chips and egg fried rice were poor toaverag at best. I didn't eat it and ruined my night, asked for bill and the cheeky waitress charged me full price, I questioned this and she took it off. Awful service, awful food and guessing the real chefs had taken the night off. I eat out alot and is also my profession, either improve or don't serve poor standard food and lie to customers. We went home and I had something to eat, bill would of been £58 for 2, waste of a...
Read moreVisited for the first rime tonight. Wow! The whole experience was phenomenal. The service was exceptional in every way. The food was glorious, I had prawns for starters and mains and my partner vegetarian spring roles and pad Thai. Everything was delicious and plentiful. The ambiance was great with a lovely welcome. For the price we paid we did not expect such quality. £48 for 2 starters, 2 mains and a bottle of Sauvignon blanc! From the cutlery and plates to the smartly dressed staff you would expect to be paying much more. We will most certainly be returning here on a regular basis and encourage anyone reading this to give Thai 5 a try. You will not be...
Read moreWe booked a table for dinner at TJ's No5 restaurant. We ordered starters of fish cakes, spare ribs and spring rolls. For mains we had fried sea bass in sweet and sour sauce, sea bass with curry sauce and steamed jasmine rice and southern Thai chicken with noodles. All the meals were nicely presented and tasted delicious. Most importantly the plates were hot.
We paid £109.45 for three of us including 2 glasses of red wine, two glasses of apple juice and sparkling water. Definitely worth a visit, pleasant service from the waitress and the food came...
