Date night was at Chef Babak, situated in the heart of Stafford, Chef Babak has recently from its former Italian to a vibrant Mediterranean-inspired menu, and I couldn’t be more excited about this transformation. The shift not only breathes new life into the establishment but also celebrates the rich and diverse flavors of Mediterranean cuisine.

The ambiance is inviting yet sophisticated—a perfect blend for a casual night out or a special occasion. The staff warmly welcomed us, who were attentive and knowledgeable about the menu, making us feel right at home.

The highlight of our evening was undoubtedly the food. The menu features a delightful array of dishes that reflect the varied culinary traditions of the Mediterranean.

For the main course, I opted for the steak, marinated to perfection and served with a fragrant couscous salad and grilled vegetables. The steak was tender and juicy, My wife chose the sea bass, and it proved to be a showstopper bringing the essence of the Mediterranean to our table.

Chef Babak offers exceptional value for the quality of food served. The prices are reasonable compared to the portion sizes and the use of quality ingredients.

We came here to celebrate me getting a new job and everything about this restaurant was exceptional.

Service was very attentive and friendly and made us feel welcome. They were very approachable and we felt very relaxed and at ease.

I had the italian pillows to start and it did not dissapoint. It was nice and light to start, with incredible flavour.

For my main I had the duck dish and I can honestly say it was the best duck I have ever eaten. The meat was cooked to perfection and tasted amazing. The sauce was so flavourfull and complimented the meat perfectly and the veg was equally as great.

I had the chefs special desert, which was a chocolate cheescake and together with a cherry cocktail was a lovely finish to my three courses.

The wine was also very high quality and very reasonably priced. Even the garlic bread with the chili sauce was unbelievable.

We had high expectations of this restaurant, as chef talked up his credentials having been trained by top chefs. Overall less than average. We were a party of six. Four would not recommend or eat their again. My pasta dish was overcooked and under seasoned. Very little, poor quality chicken and a very 'claggy' sauce. I didn't complain but did give feedback. A decent chef/kitchen/manager would have acknowledged this and thanked their customer. But not at Chef Babak. The deserts did not seem to be home made and were chain pub quality, not restaurants quality. One of our party requested an Irish Coffee. Waitress did not know what this was.
