Flour & Co Bakehouse — Restaurant in Stafford

We said we wouldn't go again due to bad service but wanted to give it another chance....wish we hadn't. There were 5 servers milling around, I stood at the counter waiting to be served for ages before anyone of them asked me what I'd like (I was just about to leave) I ordered 2 small coffees and was asked for £9.60. It took me a minute or two to realise and asked if that was correct for 2 small coffees.... the server looked bemused, another server looked at it and said something to her, she dropped more change into my hand..... no "oh sorry about that" ..... nothing. Anyway, it took 15 minutes and 17 minutes to arrive, separately! minus spoons. While waiting 2 other customers went to the counter to check when there order might arrive. Someone was clearing a double table next to us where they'd had food....he wiped the table down and scooped all the bits of spilt food onto the floor!! It was chaotic service. The tiny tiny tiny cakes were extraordinarily expensive. NB. The coffee was gorgeous. We won't go...

I really wanted to like this place, but it’s a huge disappointment. The atmosphere is bland and uninviting. nothing about the space makes you want to stay. The food is mediocre (being generous), this is literally just the only bakery and coffee place in the area. not to mention the flies on the pastries, so don’t order anything in the bakery case!

What really ruined the experience was how the staff are treated. I witnessed the management openly yelling at employees in front of customers, which was incredibly uncomfortable and unprofessional. It says a lot about a business when they can’t even respect their own team.

Perhaps we went on a bad day, but we won't be going again. All we wanted was an Ice cream. There are no signs giving a clue as to where or how you should enter their system and we received a very abrasive attitude because we apparently didn't go to the correct place. When we went to the correct place we received a very puzzled look from the staff who didn't seem to be aware of their system either. Eventually we were given a list of the ice creams we could have and the list did not reflect the availability we had seen on the ice cream fridge...
