it was cold when we arrived no heating on at our table no one came to ask what drinks we would like went to bar and the lady said it was table service eventually someone came.we ordered 2 glasses of wine and a diet coke i have never seen such a small glass of coke it was more like a dash of coke you have with a spirt all other pubs you get or half pint. Next we were asked if we wanted our starters straight away which we said yes lucky we did as these took a while to arrive. We asked the waitress to tell kitchen staff to make sure our veg was hot as last year it was luke warm. Again we had to wait a while for xmas dinner to arrive when it did the veg was cold my dads roast potatoes were not cooked through and some of the carrots were black on one side. After we finnished the xmas dinner i timed how long for xmas pudding to arrive it took 40 mins. before it came to tabble then they got the order wrong they bought one vegan pudding out which was not ordered so 2 of us had finnished before the third arrived. We complained to the wautress all she did was give a small giggle and said she would let them know. No one came and gave anapolgy or nothing my mum went to speak with another waitress who she thought was the head one was told the manager was not their to speak to and pass everything on to him and he would call us iam now waiting for this call and want a full refund. we were on a 12.00 sitting when people came in for the 2.00pm sitting their were no tables free cause people were still eating. it was utter chaos on xmas day and is the worst service we have ever experienced. I was with my elderly parents and i am so angry how...

A lovely pub just 5 minutes walk along a busy road although safe from Wolseley Bridge 70 on the canal. Really warm and lovely decor inside and the staff were friendly and welcoming. Social distancing was easy, maintained and face masks required until you're seated. We decided our second visit would be for dinner and couldn't wait to see what great dishes were on the menu! The Nottinghill Chardonnay was very good as were my Pedigree ale pints.... Only one starter was ordered and the King Prawn & Mango cocktail looked delicious and was very tasty too. Then for mains, we had one round of the day specials, the "Pork Belly & Chives mash" (green beans, apple sorbet, crackling and red wine jus) and one round of the "Handmade Fishcakes & Poached egg" (filled with lobster, white fish with cream sauce, with asparagus & hollandaise and baby potatoes). The meals looked stunning, were cooked perfectly, absolutely tasty and very delicious...well done chef!! Even though we were totally satisfied, we decided to order a round of puddings as they looked inviting and as we both have a bit of a "sweet tooth", why not indeed..! Both the "mini" Apricot Creme Brulee along with the full portion of the Bramley apple & Blackberry crumble with custard were devilishly sweet and delicious....just perfect to end our meal. We highly recommend this pub most definitely and would like to say a big thank you to the manager, Jim and to Karen especially who served us as well as all the other staff for a truly enjoyable evening, the delicious food and for making our second visit here a truly...

Sunday 11th May me and my husband booked in at 6pm to have a Sunday lunch, we were shown to our table by a very polite assistant and we chose what we wanted to eat, 2 minutes after ordering our meals the assistant came back and told my husband the trio of meats he'd chosen had run out so he chose the beef which I'd also chosen, after about a 10 minute wait the assistant came and brought our meals to us, I was disappointed at the beef on my plate as it was mostly gristle and fat! And at £21 the meat should have been perfect ! So I called the assistant to ask her if she could replace my beef with a better cut of beef, she replied that she thought they had run out of all the meat but would go and find out, she returned and said yes she was sorry but they had run out of the beef and that was the outcome, when the assistant returned to take our plates away she said she would go and ask the manager if he would take the beef of our bill, she returned and the meal of £21! Had been taken off the bill. My point of putting this complaint here is because surely they knew there was no good meat left so why didn't they tell us this at the start as they did with the trio of meats! We go to the wolseley Arms quite a few times a year and this wasn't the first time we've had a bad experience but as you do you give pubs the benefit of doubt and try them again. We will not be going back here again and continue to go to the better eating places that we have found over...

We were a party of 9 who visited on Sunday at 12.45. Lovely traditional pub atmosphere. 2 of the party were vegan and had several good options available (including the moving mountains burger - no vg. Cheese). Sunday roasts were good except for practically raw broccoli. Service was ok, slow with the drinks orders though and coffee after was served luke warm. They offer a smaller bites menu for desserts which seemed like a good option (pudding and coffee for £5.50), unfortunately it is a con if you have the vegan cheesecake (which tasted lovely) - we all laughed when it was served and thought it was a joke! It was tiny (not even a single mouthful!). My wife had the regular portion and I took a photo to compare the two - see below (unfortunately it doesn't seem to show the real scale of disappointment). Apparently the staff have no say over the portion size so I have complained to their head office of Mitchel and Butler. Our server was friendly and sympathetic to my complaint. Overall the meal seemed quite expensive for what we had - not sure we will return again.

me and my boyfriend have been here many times and had a really good meal however we went on the 20th of july and were really disappointed i had ordered the chicken burger and had asked for only lettuce on it and nothing else i get the burger and they had put chilli jam on it we said to our server im so sorry we did ask for it plain she takes it a way and 2 minutes later it comes back and there is no sauce on it however i flip the burger over to see that they had given me the same burger and tried to scrape the sauce off it i think this is extremely bad as surely they should take things like this as an allergy as i did when i worked in the food industry we then got the server back over and she said well did you want a whole new one then she also implied we would get 50% off the whole bill but the only compensation we got for this was 50% off thag burger. it’s so crazy how one bad experience and laziness makes me now not want to go there again the photo is off the burger we got back flipped over
