Every now and then you come across an Indian restaurant that just has that something extra. Just walking inside seeing people relaxed eating talking drinking, there was a wonderful calming feeling , getting the occasional smile put me in a calm and happy frame of mind. The wonderful designs and styling was in its self very interesting and cosy. We were a party of six and shown to our table which were very well spaced giving people lots of room. This was only the second time I had dined out in two years with being high risk Covid though I felt calm and exited at the same time, with my wife, son, daughter-in-law and two grand children this was going to be a special night. Drinks arrived promptly with a friendly service. The starters were beautifully presented and the salmon tikka was delicious. One thing that stood out was Robert a very attentive waiter with tons of experience with people ,10 years on cruise ships going in at a basic level and incredibly reaching the top, becoming the manager in record time. Robert is also like google, ask him anything and he will give you a wonderful sometimes funny answer, he is amazing getting the kids laughing and enjoying the occasion. I had a delicious Jalfrazei and a side of Bombay aloo just perfect with my cheese garlic nan bread. Everyone had a wonderful time the food was so good and the service matched it with the beautiful surroundings. Robert put the finishing touch with his warm kind fascinating personality we were laughing at some of his funny comments a true professional and a credit to Sanjeev's restaurant. We all came away happy because this was a five star experience. Try it you will be amazed just relax and enjoy the friendly atmosphere. Robert will help with your selections of the very best Indian food I have had. Good luck and enjoy...
Read more15 of us went this evening for a special birthday...Id heard mixed reviews but the birthday girl had chosen it for its location. All orders pre ordered. Service was chaotic. Starters came with mains....rice came for some almost 10 mins before meals....some meals a good while before their sides. I had steamed seafood....£16 and it was the size of a starter. Two little ones in high chairs....one had made a mess on the table part of the high chair so I went to the bar for a damp cloth so i could clean it up. Guy helpfully said I'll come over". He came, looked, and said "ill do it later "....I explained that now the food had gone I didn't want the baby rubbing his hands in the mess then in his hair. He said " ill do it later"....I said..."just so I'm clear I'm asking for it to be cleaned and you're refusing? " He ignored me and walked away. I did my best to clean it myself with wet wipes. Best part of £300 and I really felt everything was too much trouble. Maybe they were having staff issues....something was definitely amiss. Didn't mind so much that the baby changing unit was lying on its side outside the locked disabled loo....we worked around that by changing baby on the toilets floor. But the service was really chaotic...no one was in the least bit cheerful...except the lady behind the bar who helpfully tried to offer solutions to the baby changing issue. Food was nice though....though some of us left hungry owing to.portion sizes. Sadly we won't be back. Saturday June 10th 6pm booking if anyone from there would like to contact us for an explanation. Seemed pointless to complain on the night...no one...
Read moreWe picked an early 6pm slot with us going for a family meal but we were sat by the entrance / bar which wouldnât normally be an issue.
Just as we were eating our mains there entered a group of circa 15 people all out on a works Xmas do, who were early and congregated around the bar. Unfortunately this was directly behind us, and when I say direct it was so close that they were knocking the coats off our seat and knocking us as we ate.
We tried to ignore this but it was clear that these had all been out beforehand and found it normal to shout swearwords as though they were in the local boozer.
I asked one of them to keep the swearing down u til our 8/12 year old kids had left but I was given a mouthful back by one of their partners.
I fully understand that itâs Xmas and everyone is merry, but come on if you are goi g to allow large drunken groups in your resteranut then make a designated bar area, or at least seat all families away from the bar.
This was the first time we had been since moving to the area 3 years ago and weâre all looking forward to it, but wonât be returning.
Such a shame. Lovely place, lovely staff, but the desire to make a fortune on a large group, overshadowed keeping new...
