We tried a new breakfast spot this morning – Hubby and I love hunting down new brekkie places! We visited the old Water Margin, now rebranded as The Margin Café, and it did not disappoint. The menu had something for everyone – from a full English to classic bacon butties, with vegetarian options too. It’s a cosy little place and we were lucky to grab the last two seats. Now let’s talk coffee. As full-on coffee fanatics, we’re very fussy about both the flavour and how it’s made – and this coffee was absolutely spot on. There was a bit of a wait for food (seemed like they were making one order at a time), but honestly? Totally worth it. Hubby had a breakfast bap that was stacked and full of flavour. I went rogue and built my own: scrambled eggs on toast, with bacon and black pudding – and yes, they butter the toast, which wins them serious bonus points! The place had a lovely, relaxed vibe, and the four staff members were working non-stop. Highly recommend a visit – we’ll...
Read moreWe loved this cafe! Our visit was on a Tuesday early lunchtime and it was reasonably quiet customer wise, yet still steady (a good sign) best time for me as I’m not fussed on being somewhere at its peak time. They also had outdoor seating which I think is undercover ?) The vibe was lovely & relaxed, & the staff made us feel very welcome.
The food and coffee was absolutely delicious! The bread was bakery fresh & my Dad had a cookie that was clearly baked that day - yum! He also had a full English which was a really decent size. I had the avocado, egg & pico de gallo sandwich which had a nice kick! The coffee was also decent & they offer decaf.
The bonus for me was that they allow dogs and my little one was more than happy sleeping on the floor; she’s a pretty anxious dog so for her to be sparko on the floor is a testament to the relaxed vibe 😌 The menu has a great variety of food & I’m sure anything ordered would taste very good. We’ll definitely be...
Read moreI was informed about this cafe by a good friend and I must say, I will be visiting on a regular basis now. It's a family run place that's clean and comfortable. I was really glad to see the vegetarian breakfast on the menu, which is what I had. Everything arrived nice and hot. They have a multitude of syrups for a different flavour of coffee. I went for the vanilla. Just as I had finished my breakfast, a run of freshly baked cookies had just come out of the oven. I couldn't resist. I tried a pistachio cookie and it was literally melt in the mouth. The cafe has outdoor seating, so it's lovely to sit outside, on a nice day and relax. 100% well worth the visit. Looking forward to my next breakfast here next time I'm on the...
