Liked: First impressions were good and the gentleman who showed us to our space was lovely.
Disliked: Unfortunately our stay took a fast downwards turn and I'll try to summarise as succinctly as possible.
We are a sensible, quiet, mixed racial family group with young children, and had pre agreed that we could have additional guests join us for a bbq. Upon our guests' arrival a female member of staff came out - I presumed she was the owner - and was incredibly rude to us. She said that we had not been authorised to have additional guests joining us, and that they were a campsite in a residential area and we could not 'have a party' (we were having a quiet, music free and alcohol free bbq).
When I politely pointed out that we had pre agreed for our guests to be there she told me that this was not the case (essentially calling me a liar). She told me that she would check which member of staff had agreed this and then come back to speak with me. Safe to say she never returned to continue the discussion.
Following on from this, the pub had incredibly loud music blasting from both inside and outside the pub until 1.30am, despite signs around the campsite saying that their 'quiet time' was from midnight onwards.
In the morning we had several instances of the same lady making loud comments about us, and talking to other people (members of staff or campers - we were unsure), as well as staring at us repeatedly whilst she was outside in the pub carpark.
Throughout the entirety of our stay we noticed a distinctly different treatment of the other group of campers, which was interesting to witness.
I personally felt incredibly uncomfortable, unwelcome and frankly at times unsafe at this campsite. We were at all times polite, considerate and respectful and we treated appallingly by the owner. We will not be returning and would recommend other campers to seek an...

Nice grass site in a good location.
Lots of walks and cycle paths near by along the old disused rail track and a lovely canal with good paths.
Including the owners pub that has a good selection of ales etc there are other pubs within walking distance. We had food two nights in the Cuttle Inn which is approx 20 minute walk and next to the canal. The first night we had the Curry and a drink deal which was very good and the next night it was the fish night again it was excellent.
There is good single shower and toilet cleaned regularly. Waste disposal and fresh water tap. Lots of bins for recycling etc.
Hopefully we'll be allowed back.
Disliked: It was quite a busy weekend for the site. The campers were a mix of camper vans/motorhomes and tents and the majority were well behaved. Unfortunately there was one couple in a tent with a young boy who fought it ok to kick a heavy ball about and throw a torpedo type thing across the field and run around amongst others with water pistols.
At one point the boy was kicking the ball at full pelt many times at the side of their car with no regard and that was off putting. They obviously had no regard for there property and more importantly other peoples.
Later in the evening the man even had an open fire made with wood. This could easily get out of hand baring in mind they were camped under the trees.
Obviously us and others were on edge with this worried about our property getting damaged.
There were other children playing happily being well supervised by their parents which was not a problem.
I think the site should have a no fires, ball game and throwing policy in place for this...
Three weary travelers, in search of a place to rest, stumbled upon The Green Man. David, the amiable barkeep, not only welcomed us but also shared the rich history of this venerable establishment. As the oldest pub in the area, it exuded a timeless charm that immediately captivated our senses.
David's extensive local knowledge extended beyond the pub's history, as he offered valuable insights into hikes in the surrounding area. His guidance added a layer of depth to our stay, turning it into an exploration of both the past and the natural wonders that embraced the pub.
The pub itself boasted an impressive array of beers that painted the walls with the hues of countless brews.
In the morning, The Green Man continued to impress with a breakfast spread that filled the air with a delicious aroma, setting the stage for a hearty start to the day.
In conclusion, The Green Man stands as more than a historic pub; it's a haven for weary travelers seeking not just shelter but a connection to the past, guidance for adventures, and a taste of local hospitality. David's warm welcome and the pub's timeless charm make it a must-visit, leaving an indelible mark on the journey of those fortunate enough to...
