Disappointing Visit to The Moat House Inn at Coughton Court My recent visit to The Moat House Inn, Coughton Court, unfortunately, fell short of expectations, despite a promising start. The booking process was excellent, thanks to Luke, who was fantastic on the phone – friendly and efficient. Upon arrival, the service was fast, friendly, and professional, a credit to the staff who clearly work hard. The scenery from the patio is also very pretty, offering a lovely backdrop for outdoor dining. However, the positives were quickly overshadowed by several significant issues. The patio was overrun with wasps, to the point where a young child was screaming after being stung. It was perplexing to see zero wasp traps in place, especially given the clear problem, which led to many patrons trying to secure tables indoors. The food quality was also a major letdown and not up to the standards one would expect. The pork belly was dry, and what was ordered as trout arrived as a salmon fillet, a clear mistake. Out of six meals ordered, only the burger was finished, indicating a widespread dissatisfaction with the dishes served. While the initial service and location show potential, the severe wasp issue and the poor quality of the food significantly detracted from the experience. I sincerely hope the standards improve if we decide to...
Read moreWhat a shame. We came for a Sunday lunch and what a disappointment, especially when spending over £350. The prices are high end however the food certainly isn't. Probably one of the worst Sunday roast lunches I have ever had and when you are charging over £20 it isn't good enough. We had to pay for Yorkshire puddings additionally to the Roast unless you were having Beef (fine), however we ordered they never came when they did come they were stone cold and as thick as cakes. The Pork/Beef were almost inedible. The potatoes very mediocre. Gravy no flavour. The only part I enjoyed was the carrots and I don't even like carrots! I ordered Pill Pill Prawns for starter they were just swimming in a horrid oil. Not the sizzling Pill Pill Prawns that you would expect. The chef is obviously trying but can't execute at all well. Will not be returning. I was surprised we were able to get a table the day before I know why now. However the Service was good and apart from the Yorkshires I...
Read moreWe had a family meet up, 10 of us ate, The food was pretty disappointing. We had high hopes when we walked in and saw the pizza oven and expected something special. Unfortunately the pizza's were small and dry, they are more expensive than a proper Neapolitan pizzeria. When we got the bill, we were surprised to see the pizza was by one get one free, this was not mentioned on the menu or by our server, we ordered 3 but would have swapped out the awful sausage and mash (£17 for 2 sausages and a bit of very salty mash) for pizza instead if we had been informed. at £7 or £8 each the pizza would have been ok I guess. The service was pretty hopeless too, no one came to check if the food was ok, or ask if we needed more drinks. The pub is lovely inside, and everywhere looked very clean, so I gave the extra star. Looking at other peoples reviews and pictures I can only assume we turned up on an off night, None of ours we're really worthy of a picture and other people obviously like what...
