I would hire better staff if the business still want to run.... I run a property investment company and wanted to collaborate with some furniture shop as I love supporting family run businesses.
Called in on Monday (26/08/24), a lovely lady said she couldn't help with my enquires, so she will kindly get the director to give me a call back, which was absolutely fine, However, when they call back before business hour, I missed the call due to parental responsibility.
Fast forward to Wednesday, I had another call back, and now Thursday, I gave them a call back and explained to their staff the situation. None of them know the situation and or was able to answer my queries. The call was transferred 3 times, where they are said the other person could help. Last of all after holding on the phone line to wait for this guy called Ben who apparently would definitely be able to sort out any of my queries, the first thing he said was you would not be expecting any call back as "we are absolutely mad on Monday, you will be lucky if you were to have one cause no one was able to pick any phone calls, we are that busy."
Okay by the sound of it, this company just do not want to take on any businesses and or have the ability/ capacity to take on anything for their business. I then reply and said, well somebody did try but I missed it. I was then asked my queries, he wasn't able to answer any of my questions yet questioning back and ask if I am based near their warehouse. Following up with "Well in this case, we can't do much about it since you are miles away and it's impossible for me to explain any of their order process just on a phone call."
We are in 2024 and this so called "customer service" is just shocking and has left...

When we walked through the store door the sales guy, which I now think is the owner, pounced on us immediately and bombarded us with questions, it was like an interrogation. He hounded us several times while walking round the store. We would have liked to buy a 3 piece suite, and were interested in the electrical recliner options. We could not get a straight answer with the price. Only what the usual price is, followed by some sort of discount, with a promise of further discount if we purchase today. When we asked for price differences he rapidly reeled off numbers but it was very difficult to work out the individual item costs and then the overall price of a 3 seater, a 2 seater and a chair. We tried to clarify the prices as we wanted to think about the various options. It was going to be a big purchase. The today only discount was again mentioned but no indication of what it was. We said, we think what we are looking for, you priced at Ā£5,969. He then said I can give a discount if you buy today. We asked what is the the discount, and he answered quite sharply, āpick your fabric and Iāll tell youā. When I asked further questions he would respond with āIāve already told you that⦠We felt a little intimidated and could not just sit there being treated like school kids so we decided to leave. We, in fact, purchased our suite of furniture without actually seeing it - apart from a photograph on Midfurnās website; we didnāt travel to actually view the suite due to the distance between our home and Alcester. Spoke to Midfurn twice before deciding to purchase it. The suite arrived today and it is exactly as described; we are absolutely delighted. At no time have we experienced any problem with contacting Midfurn on the telephone. The suite was scheduled to be delivered today, but when we purchased the suite, they were unable to give us a delivery time. A lady (Sharon) from Midfurn āphoned this morning to advise us that it would be delivered before 1.30 p.m. (13.30 hrs.,). The suite arrived before 1 oāclock today.
The whole of our dealings with Midfurn have been absolutely superb. We would not hesitate in recommending them.
The chaps who delivered our suite were extremely polite, efficient and friendly. They also respected our home. The weather today has been somewhat inclement and they took the trouble to lay covers down for them to walk on, so as not to take the chance of marking our carpet.
