Hello Falcon Inn team, I’d like to offer my feedback following our visit to the Falcon Inn in Painswick on Saturday, 27th September. We chose the Falcon after reading some great reviews online and were really looking forward to a special meal out with family – there were five of us in total. First off, I want to say that the front of house team were excellent – warm, friendly, and very welcoming. That made a lovely first impression. While we really appreciated the service, I have to be honest and say we were a little underwhelmed by the food overall. The sharing bread my sister and her partner ordered looked quite basic – it seemed like it might have been shop-bought, though I could be wrong. My mum enjoyed her salad starter, but it was on the small side. My partner and I both had the cheese soufflé, which tasted like it may have been prepared earlier and reheated. For mains, my sister’s fish and chips were solid – a good classic pub dish – and my mum was happy with her pork. However, three of us went for the chicken supreme, which we expected to be a bit of a standout dish given the £28 price tag. Unfortunately, it didn’t quite live up to expectations. The sauce was minimal and lacked flavour, and the mash was fairly standard. The accompanying chard was also quite undercooked, especially the stalks, which made it difficult to enjoy. On the drinks side, the sparkling wines were excellent – really enjoyable. The Albariño was a bit unusual for our tastes, but that may just come down to personal preference. In the end, we decided to skip dessert. The total bill came to £260 for the five of us, and while we were happy to pay for a quality experience, the food didn’t quite match what we’d hoped for. Thanks again for your hospitality – and for listening. We appreciate the care from the team and hope this feedback is helpful. @partners.collinsbookings.com also invited me to share our experience through DesignMyNight.com and HushHeathFeedback.com, the latter of which mentioned the chance to enter a competition for a £50 voucher. However, I haven’t received any confirmation or acknowledgment from any of the platforms regarding my feedback. The Falcon Inn website doesn't offer an email address to send a direct message; only an online form; hence...

Read moreWhat can I say.... Service; terrible. Manager; rude and terrible, food; absolutely bang average. But I do want to highlight the actual waiting staff were very nice.
We were in a big (ish) party, once we got there we knew instantly the manager didn't want us there. We had sent our order ahead of time (and due to our own mistake we ordered off the wrong menu but corrected it) - we let the manager know this and he only wanted to say "yeah well I haven't seen the new email". Which is fair, a busy pub and obviously busy guy, we didn't expect miracles.
Two of the pies were stone cold. I'm taking straight out of the freezer and not cooked. We let the staff know and they said that we could either wait for the pies to be cooked which would "take some time" or order something new. We opted to wait for the pies. Eventually after 30 minutes they came back piping hot (after everyone else had finished their meals). So wasn't exactly a great food experience.
Two people had the BLTs. Honestly the most below average sandwich I've ever eaten. It was edible but for £10 for essentially stale bread and the least filling I've ever seen it wasn't exactly anything to shout about.
Any Guinness fans? Don't expect a Guinness glass. They must have ran out of glasses (and branded glasses for Guinness) about 5 times. The manager said "we have no more glasses because you've had them all" - so a party of 16 (only 8 of us drinking ale) is apparently the glass limit.
All I would say is, if you go here set your expectations very very low. You will either leave with a complaint of your own or you'll leave and probably never remember this place existed.
Also, if you want mayo or ketchup it comes by the bowl. As in cereal bowl. Such a...
